  1. Recoil shouldn't be that bad. I shoot a Super Blackhawk scoped with full power 240gr. loads and it's not that bad. I think the Super Redhawk may even be a little heavier than the SBH.
  2. Nice looking little gun there
  3. Very nice indeed! I've got several goats I'd trade for one of those.
  4. Didn't go this weekend for the reasons mentioned here already. If I want to see overpriced guns and ammo I can go to Bass Pro, and not have to pay a $10 entry fee.

    Oh My God...

Yea, I hope nobody was stupid enough to buy that crap. I'm sure he just got tired of people calling and emailing to tell him what an idiot he is.

    Oh My God...

LSN is full of this kind of crap. It's always buyer beware over there, though I have had some good experiences trading off of LSN.
  7. That describes half the bikers around here.
  8. Because they have lots of BOOM! That was my favorite day of basic training. Would love to relive it.
  9. Marlin 1894's are generally not used by competitive rifle shooters. What I meant was that the majority of rifles owned by private citizens do not ever get shot enough to shoot them out. They're usually just "fouled" out.
  10. Keep in mind also that if it's a micro-groove barrel, the rifling doesn't look very deep to begin with but that's normal. I say just clean it really good and then shoot it to see how it does. It's very rare that a barrel gets shot out.
  11. Thanks for all the replies, glad to know everyone's had good experiences with Taurus. Looks like that will be my next purchase.
  12. Okay, so I've really taken a liking to revolvers here lately. I've been seriously considering the Taurus 605 so I can shoot 357's for defense and practice with 38's. Anybody got one of these or the Taurus 85? Any opinions on strength, durability, quality, etc. would be appreciated.

    9mm Revolver?

Ditto on the Ruger sp101, all the ones I've seen are at collector prices.
  14. Yea, definitely ditch the pawn shops if you want to find anything reasonably priced.

    My new toy!

I like me some big bore handguns. How's the recoil on that beast?

    What Ammo To Use

Try a little of several brands til you find what your rifle likes the best, then buy all you can. Most 22's can be a little finicky about what they shoot best with. For me it's mini-mags in the rifle and Federal 510's in the pistol.
  17. Thanks for the coupon link burboy, I think I'm probably going on Saturday.
  18. I agree with the above posters, never had any problems out of it if the gun is kept clean. Accuracy not bad either.
  19. I agree, it sounds like fun. If I had my choice I would definitely prefer to go on a hunt using dogs.
  20. I think your house is safe either way.
  21. So can you shoot lead out of that barrel.
