Never say never...I too have been bitten by the revolver bug, notably the single action variety. Still keep an auto by the bed though.

bushfox, I just bought a 44 mag lever and love it, 357 is next on my list and should be adequate for deer with the right loads and within range.

Have any of you shot the new target model mini? I have heard countless reports about the lack of accuracy out of the mini and was wondering if the target model is that much better.

Mine's got a green mtn bull with a Hogue overmolded stock on it. Not fancy by any means, but it's a tackdriver.

+1 for the NEF handi rifle, lots of versatility in a compact package, and they do make a "youth" model that is even smaller.

Saw that same thing on guns & ammo tv or one of those shows. Pretty cool idea to drop them out of planes to arm the people, but painfully slow to load and shoot it looked like.

I would say any factory load in 45/70 would be plenty enough power for whitetails.

Just watched channel 4 news, they had a story on about "urban" coyotes and that people should watch out. Said that seniors and people with infants should be especially careful. Am I missing something? Are coyotes attacking people now, I mean come on! More media sensationalism.

I've shot their ammo for almost 20 years, and never had a problem. It's the same as everybody else's.
