  1. I went with a Hahn block. Never a problem.
  2. I have a ParaOrdnance LTC. I love it for carry. I bought one a few years ago and again when a member here had one for sale.
  3. It would be nice to see a US made Tavor, but the Israelis will eventually be the demise of the project. They will want too much in licensing for the rifles name and parts. Same thing happened to Barrett when I was there. The eventual cost to the consumer was going to be a deal killer because the Israelis wanted a percentage of the gun parts to be made in Israel and sold to who ever was going to build it. They wanted too much in the parts production. Same thing will here. MSRP will be in the $2k range, watch and see. No way in the world I would pay that much for a Tavor after seeing the insides of one and seeing what it would take to build one. Shooting the select fire model rifle was a gas though.
  4. I have a stainless T/C Contender. a Super 14" 30-30 barrel that shoots amazing with 125grain Nosler Ballistic Tips. Never fails to get the deer each year. A Super 14" .22lr barrel that is a blast to shoot. A 10" .222 Rem barrel that is a death ray on ground hogs. The 40 grain Ballistic Silver Tips are like grenades to groundhogs. Had a 10" 44 Mag barrel but traded it off. Never shot it anymore. Looking at getting a .223 barrel.
  5. Hot water on all the affected areas to neutralize the corrosive priming salts, dry, then clean like normal. It may add 10-15 minutes to your cleaning routine. Big deal. I've been firing corrosive 5.45 and 7.62x39 for years. Can't tell it in any of my rifles.
  6. If you go for the Saiga, make sure it has the bullet guide installed so it will accept standard AK mags. If it doesn't have the bullet guide, you are looking at a modification cost to get it done. Or buy the kit and do it yourself. The Saiga's come with a proprietary mag, and will not accept a standard AK mag. Something to think about. I would go for a WASR of some sort and be happy she wants one. I built an AK74 for myself and made the mistake of letting the wife fire it. She commented on how smooth it cycled and how low the recoil impulse was....... I was out an AK74. Now I have to build myself another one.
  7. I've had numerous FAL's over the years. My favorite but sold in a fit of stupidity was an inch pattern rifle with Ironwood walnut furniture. It was a real sweetheart to shoot. I sold it to someone in Woodbury many years ago. I have these 2 now.
  8. There used to be some really nice MG shoots at Camden a long time ago till Yeagers inflated ego killed it. In short, he's a moron.
  9. Olympic makes .40 cal bolts. I have one they shipped me by mistake when I ordered a spare 9mm AR bolt. I ordered another bolt and kept the 40cal bolt thinking I might do a .40 or a .357SIG AR. Haven't done either. If you want the bolt, I'll sell it to you for cheap. Shouldn't be a thing wrong with a blowback .357 SIG AR, there are plenty of .357SIG pistols. A blowback rifle shouldn't matter a bit.
  10. Didn't want to invest in tanks for a one off project.
  11. How many loadings on the brass? The primer pocket may be stretched. May not be the rifle at all.
  12. Want to matte blue my No4Mk1 Enfield. Going to blast it, just need to find some bluing tanks to dip the parts in around here. Anyone know of any? Thanks
  13. I go to my parents farm in Clay Co. I can shoot up to 1400 yards with mine.

    mosin nagant

TGI sells some on gunbroker that are in really good condition. I have 2 I got from them. One is a Tula hex 5 line 1925 dated rifle in extremely good condition. Not counterbored. The other is a 1934 Izhevsk hex receiver that is in almost unissued condition. At least I would call it that. It is exceptional.
  15. There used to be a really nice MG shoot on his property in Camden till his bloated ego killed it. We had a lot a fun a few years in a row. But his hard headedness blew it for everyone. 2 friends took his class. Wished they hadn't. Told me to save my money. I took a Magpul class instead.
  16. Nice to know about them. I live near Cedar Bluff and Middlebrook Pike and didn't they were there. Will stop in after work one day this week. Thanks for the heads up.
  17. Seeing one in person, they look like airsoft. Really cheesy. Didn't get to fire it so I don't know how it functioned.
  18. Who knows what rifle/pistol really did in OBL. Most speculation has it the SIG226. Fan boys all over the net are saying the HK416. Unless the shooter steps forward and says "I used ---" it's all guesswork on everyones part.
  19. The SOCOM has one heck of a bark out the muzzle. I have an M1A Scout and couldn't be happier. I don't have optics on it, but prefer it that way for the Scout. I've had plenty of mags for it for a long time and spare parts if needed. The extra 2 inches of barrel in the Scout model will make use of the oomph the 308 round has. 16" in the SOCOM seems a bit weird to me.

    AMD 65???

Yours is a Hungarian made receiver. very well made guns. Probably imported by TGI, then hicapped as they were imported as a low cap receiver. Then added the US required parts to be 922® compliant. I've fired a few of the FEG guns. they are really well made and reliable. A NoDak Spud receiver is a US made receiver. They make a lot of receivers for the US market. They have a new US made fully welded Uzi receiver out now. Really thinking of getting one as they are $200 fully welded and ready to add a semi barrel. The front barrel trunnion will only accept a semi barrel as it is smaller sized. It will not accept a full auto barrel as the barrel nut is a lot larger.
