    First Gun

Congratulations, now take it to the range and let us know how it shoots.
  4. I generally use solvent in the barrel first and let it soak for at least 10 minutes or so. Then I use a solvent soaked pad for wiping down the outside of the barrel and slide or anywhere else where there is powder residue.
  5. " If politicians have staked their prestige and/or hopes for advancement on being the ones to fix a crisis, they don’t like to hear that “Oops! There is no crisis!†Sounds about right
  6. Hopefully you'll bring us some luck in our fight.
  7. I can't wait to see how it feels. Looks nice though.
  8. Exactly. The last thing I want is to trample all over the rights of others just so I can exercises my "rights". I have earned the "privilege" to carry a handgun in Tennessee and have the right to shop somewhere else if an establishment is posted. Just my , flame me if you must.
  9. Until now, I hadn't really thought about it like this but I think you all are on to something here. It really does make sense as the part of the law that was vague dealt only with the restriction on the "type" of restaurant. Great Thread!
  10. I also am not a CT kind of guy but hey, that's just me. I do like the ergonomics of the M&P series though.
  11. Great, albeit sad pictures. Thanks for posting them.
  12. My favorite girl. Always glad to see me and the first to greet me at the door, doesn't hold a grudge when I yell at her, never asked for money and doesn't want to drive a BMW and doesn't have nor want a boyfriend .....
  13. What, are you a statistician or something....
  14. Here ya go!
  15. I agree with Ae, I've seen it several times when people don't "choke up" as they say in baseball or simply get tired after a hundred or so rounds. Next time it happens, stop, load another round in the mag, chamber then concentrate on grip and tight wrist to see if it happens again. Edit, and Ck1 since he beat me to it.
  16. Doesn't surprise me in the least. It is Rayburn after all. Funny thing is I would welcome a law that would in fact let the Restaurant's decide whether or not to allow carry. I could also make my own decision about going in.
  17. Sounds like you are pretty protected. I would recommend lag bolting it down, might just slow some "not so serious" thief's down a bit. Bottom line, if they want them bad enough, they can get them.
  18. Unfortunately, I know you are right.
  19. Strick's right but another way of looking at it is that it is our fault for wanting soo much cheap stuff. If it is made in America, it has to either cost more or they have to pay the people less, our choice.
  20. Sounds like you might already be hooked
  21. Please, do tell.
  22. Congrats on the M&P .45 ad the Divorce. I bought one at the Celebration of Liberty last fall. After 400 flawlwss rounds and the addition of a Minotaur MTAC Holster, I pretty much carry it every day.
  23. During my first go around of collecting handguns in the late 80's and early 90's, I had about a dozen handguns, two of which were a Beretta 92 and a Taurus PT 92. 1993 brought the birth of my daughter and the need for money coupled with the fears of my wife regarding all the guns, I started the sell off. The last two guns were these two. It came time to make a choice which one to keep. Common sense told me to keep the Beretta purely because of brand and resale value. I really liked the frame mounted safety on the Taurus and quite frankly couldn't tell any difference between the two guns. I also liked the nice wood grips on the Taurus (which I have since replaced) so against the advice of my gun buddy whom I bought most of my guns through, I kept the Taurus. Through the next 10 years or so it was my only handgun and I have put well over 10k rounds through it. For two years straight we'd meet at Gun City at least every other Wednesday and and shoot a couple hundred rounds in the dungeon. It has always performed flawlessly with only one, I emphasize ONE stove pipe in all that time. In my opinion, this PT 92 is as good as any Beretta and I by no means am a Taurus drinker. I could not say that ALL PT 92's are as good but would feel comfortable in purchasing another 92 series Taurus or recommending them. I trust this gun enough that it is kept under my bed in a Mini-vault for the wife to use if need be. It is the gun she has the most experience with and feels the most comfortable shooting for some strange reason. All this said, if you've got the money, get the Beretta, if not, get the Taurus.
  24. I like the approach. Hopefully, it will cause the ABC to define a bar and differentiate it from a restaurant. Then, the current law would not be un-constitutional since the responsibility would be on the Bar/restaurant and the ABC and not on HCP holders. Hope it works. Plus, it is a nice slap in the face to the "coalition of Dread" that brought about the suit.
