Buying gold and silver now is so bad because one is buying at such a high priced time. Now is the time to SELL it. Ammo would be a good thing to barter, but keep in mind that it also is at a high priced time. Look at the people that bought AR15 rifles in the last year. They bought at an all time high and these dealers that still have theirs on hand from when they ordered months ago can't get what they are asking because they bought when even distributor prices were high. Now the market is FLOODED with AR15's and the prices are getting lower everyday.

Congrats! I'm wondering if you are right handed. Sounds like you might be and that is common from going from a possible DA/SA Sig to a consistant short trigger on a Glock. Pay special attention to SQUEEZE and not PULL! Practice, practice, practice. You'll rock with that thing soon! If you're a lefty...beats me!

Yeah, I was his roommate and coworker in college. I can vouch for him!

Archerdr1, do you have a neighborghood watch? Do other neighborhoods around you? I would call the sherrifs dept. and try to get a list of where and when they meet. You will find a lot of supporters for handguns there. When you are in city council you could have these groups sign petitions and see if that would carry enough wait to bring up the HCP issue again. Just an idea. BTW if I knew this was up for a decision I would have been there to make noise for ya.

Cherokee National: Illegal to carry?
deafdogdief replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I always find it amusing that when one asks a carry question of the powers that be noone really knows. Make a mistake, though, and it's amazing what people can remember at the drop of a hat. -
I already have my permit but my wife wanted to do her class. We went with Skip from Skip's Firearms and he did a great job (I was able to sit in and listen, never hurts to brush up). He was very concise and informative. He was able to make the class more interesting than mine was several years ago. Way to go Skip!

There is a click, but the tab still likes to travel on its own. Pretty much have to do a rebuild I guess?

I keep the springs in my glock revolver cocked and locked and ready for new struts any day of the year.

I have a mossberg 500A with the stepped safety and one way screw. I have a problem with the safety in that after a shot or two the safety slides into safe partially preventing me from firing. I need to keep my thumb on it as I fire. Anyone know which part in the safety mechanism to start with? Does one just drill out the one way screw or is the special tool for it worth purchasing? I realize this is in the wrong forum. Not sure how to move it.

I've looked before and have never seen a sign, but that was a little while ago. -
Which is better...chrome lined vs. chrome moly in the AR15? I have heard that lined is not as accurate. Have also heard that moly is more durable, but heard that about lined, too.

I you are stopped out of state......

I LOVE it when LEO's are forthcoming with this info and it is correct! Thank you sir! I am NOT joking! -
It seems that my Sig has appreciated much more than my Glock. The other thing to keep in mind are guns that are not imported anymore. SKS's and other military, no longer produced guns that are now limited in number are good ideas.

If this is a Taurus Millenium you are referring to they were recalled for jams and stovepiping. My LEO friend sent his back and it is a lot better now. This was only for the 9mm first gen. that I am aware of.

Handgun Carry Liability Insurance
deafdogdief replied to PC7's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The agent beats around the bush like a one-legged tap dancer. -
Well, I thought I closed on the deal, but he wanted to have more cash than trade. Unfortunately, this deal won't happen, but it seems the market will soon flood with the overproduction and other people dumping. Thanks for the help. I did find a few things about Olympic Arms, though. I called today and the receivers are made in America. The internals are CAST by their own factories in California. According to Thom @ OLY, even the best manufacturers have oversees parts, which are still good, but they don't have them manufactured themselves. He said that Oly takes pride to have a true American production rifle. The website is helpful to see which receivers are cast and which are forged.
-
Funny you pass this along. The manufacturer site is the only reason I'm paying attention to this gun. If I remember correctly it said a mil spec receiver. Does this emcompass the complete lower and PARTS?
-
I have never used that, but I usually clean with Break Free and then use Lucas gun oil. I was told they don't make the Lucas gun oil anymore and that's a shame. The stuff doesn't burn off. Does the Weapon Shield burn off easily?

Well, I'm still clingin' to my guns and religion...

Lafayette is nice. The pace of life is slow. Don't plan on finding a high paying job there unless you have connections. I have customers there and it is a friendly place. I am assuming you are from Cleveland, TN, not GA. If you know what Dayton is like, Lafayette is that way where everyone knows you, but on a much smaller scale. Big change from Cleveland! The outling areas with a lot of land and being removed from town are really nice.
-
Yes, I have the op to FTF. The marking says 'cal multi 2009' so the assumption is a recent manufacture? It is new, never fired. How can you tell if it is mil spec?
-
I have the opportunity to pick up an Olympic Arms AR15 and was wondering how to tell if it is mil-spec. According to the website they are no longer cast. They are forged. The model reads 'M.F.R.'. The caliber reads 'Multi'. Anyone have any info?
