I think it would take awhile for them to be phased out. Even if manufacturing stops, gun stores will have them for awhile. If there is one gun you can always find, it's a used glock 23.

Well the obvious reply would be for you to go to a gun range that rents gun (or if you have a buddy) and test fire all the different kinds of glocks. Personally, I could never get use to the way they felt and I have owned a handful of different ones. I have big hands and it still just doesn't feel right. I would say if you make it to the range also try out the Springfield XD line. They are, IMHO, as reliable as glock guns and feel better. Also, I think once you try the hammerless auto you will find out it's not that bad. Again, my opinion.

I'm glad you had a good experience there. It seems like I had nothing but jerks help me out when I would go in. Hopefully that has changed and maybe I will give them another try. The 23 (as you will soon find by other posters) is a great gun. Hope you enjoy it.

I keep getting phone calls from the NRA (Caller ID). When I answer, they hang up. Every single time. I call back and get a recorded message saying sorry they missed me and would call me again in a day. They call and hang up...I called the main office and they are closed. So if they are closed, why are they calling? So basically I'm not going to renew my membership as this is borderline harassment.

Ok so I talked to the owners and here's the update. Copper sulfate...apparently doesn't work (they tried it). The carp...those are the ones that are huge. There's at least 20 small-human size carp (not kidding). UT came and did some tests and they followed what they said...nothing. So here's what they told me to do. $1000 for whoever can clean it up. I don't care how you do it. You can scuba dive down there, you can dig the pond deeper, you can use chemicals, you can borrow a manatee... Couple of things: 1. Can't kill the fish 2. If you use chemicals, and they work, you will have to tell us what chemicals you used. 3. If it does clear up, it would be expected to be clear from here on out. We will do monthly chemicals (with whatever worked). Basically, most, if not all, of the algae will need to be gone.

Once Obama got elected they figured that there was no hope for us. Maybe they will be back in 2012.

I have the streamlight TLR-2. It's sweet. I don't know much about the insight.

I have both (the CT and TLR-2). They both have there purpose. All my carry guns have CT lasers while my bedside gun has the TLR-2. You cannot carry a gun with the TLR-2 (or you are very limited in brands of holsters and how you carry). So, depending on what you want to do with the gun, that may be your answer.

Not a chance. Who knows what's in that pond. I saw a carp there bigger than me (a few actually). If you are feeling up to it, I will watch you. Maybe I could hook up something to a tractor and dredge it some how.

There is a 5 acre pond that I frequent to fish bass on days like today. I have noticed that the algae there is getting out of control. It's almost hard to fish it now. Has anyone had experience getting rid of the algae in this size of an area? I would want to protect the fish already there. I have read all kinds of advice but it seems like no one has actually tried it on a pond of that size. Any help would be appreciated.
