  1. I had to go swimming with my 649 Smith a few weeks back, WD-40 was used to blow thw water out of it once I was back at home. Then the gun was dried and properly (lightly) lubed with CLP. No rust no fuss, I don't generally swim with guns, but when your raft is stuck on rocks you gotta get out of the boat. One of the "wonder" lubes I have used with great sucess is Slide-Glide, it performs as advertised and stays in the gun for hundreds even thousands of rounds. I ran my Springfield Loaded SS .45 over 1,000 rds. without any cleaning or additional lube just to see if it would do it. The gun ran with 0 malfunctions and was still greasy when I stripped and cleaned it. I would not recommend this practice other than as an experiment, this pistol is used for practice and IDPA only. Guns used for defensive purposes should be cleaned and lubed as their manufacturer recommends, even Glocks!
  2. My P32 would seem small enough to carry anywhere, of course I never violate the law myself, but if I did, I doubt anyone would notice the Kel-Tec.
  3. It was a great match last year inspite of the oppresive heat, unfortunately I will be unable to attend this summer. Good luck to those who shoot it, enjoy.
  4. tngunman, Is that an offer?
  5. Go armed, well armed!
  6. Thank you for the info. If I decide to sell I think the gunbroker idea will give me the best chance to get top dollar for the rifle. It's not a must sell item anyway, so I would want a premium for it. Someone who collects nice old Colt ARs would want this gun.
  7. I have a near mintcondition SP1 that I am considering selling. It was made in 1971 and is all original, triangle forearm, birdcage flash hider, no forward assist. The gun shoots great as well. Does anyone know what guns like this are selling for? I don't want to set to high a price, but I really don't know its fair market value.
  8. If Obama wins this thing maybe, just maybe the conservatives will learn a lesson and get back to doing what we elected them to do in the first place. When you have Republicans out spending Democrats, earmarks etc. it shakes my faith in any thing they say, it's way past time for them to start doing what they were elected to do. I'm voting McCain only because Obamas policies (or lack there of) scare the hell out of me.
  9. Thanks Randy, I've got to get to one your classes soon.
  10. I starting to hope they don't take down the signs, my wife has agreed to boycott the mall as well which could save me a small fortune. If this works out like I hope I will soon be able to purchase another gun, more reloading supplies etc. Guys maybe we are working the wrong side of this thing!
  11. You can carry a .380 if that suits you of course, but there are better choices some where between the .380 and the somewhat impractical flame thrower. You could always combine the two and carry a snubby .357 mag. which will launch an effective bullet and set things on fire.
  12. I'm sticking with FMJ in my P32, and praying that I never need the darn thing. I carry it as a back up gun to my Glock 22 or J-frame .38 so it is unlikely if I'll ever use it off the range. It works and is suprisingly accurate and beats the hell out of nothing and I suppose the same could be said for the slightly more potent .380, but I would not use one as a primary weapon unless it was all I had.
  13. I sent a shorter version and am getting the word out to my people to do the same. I just let them know that as a law abiding HCP holder I could not shop at their mall.
  14. I guessed that it was a no-no. I love my gun rights way too much to break the law. I will have the gun transfered to him through an Alabama FFL holder.
  15. I understand that it is illegal to sell a handgun to a resident of a state other than the one in which you reside. Is it illegal to give one as a gift? I have a friend in Alabama that I would like to give a pistol, but I will not break the law to do so.
  16. It would make priceless uneasy if I were EVER nice to him!
  17. I have not shot a real IPSC match in years, but I did shoot at ORSAs Toys for Toys match last year. It was a blend of IDPA & IPSC and it was a whole lot of fun. I generally shoot IDPA and my local match is on the 3rd sat., but I may play hookie soon and come up and join in the IPSC game. If you guys put on as good a match as Mike does it should be great!
  18. I usually shop at Lowes, but there is a Home Depot close by, I guess I should at least drop in to compare prices.
  19. Yet another shot across the bow of our poor overworked and under paid match director. Hey priceless! incoming!
  20. The TN HCP qualification is easy, I have long thought that anyone who could not pass that test probably should not be carrying a gun in public.
  21. Maybe, if I don't blow myself up with that @#*#@ Glock!
  22. If he ever asks tell him its a colostomy bag, maybe then he'll quit the touchy feely crap.
  23. Just because I'm old and slow is no reason to give me a hard time!
  24. I'm working on a bottle of Elijah Craig 12 yr. old bourbon. Good stuff, drink it neat.
