I keep AR15 mags loaded for months at a time and the mags for my Glock 22 stay fully loaded between shooting sessions and it does not seem to damage the mags in any way. I was wondering how durable the spring in tubular type mags are, like on a shotgun or in the case of a lever action rifle. I have a Model 94 Winchester in .30-30, would it hurt to leave say 6 rounds in the tube for extended periods of time?

The TN/GA match has been officially canceled according to Dodds web site. The local monthly matches will be going on as scheduled. I hope Ronnie gets things ironed out with his neighbors soon, He has a nice range and it is a safe place to shoot.

I was looking for a used 23 when I ran across a 2nd gen 22 and got that instead, it has been my carry gun for over a year now. The 23 should do fine they shoot good and are reliable, what more could you ask for?

I spoke wwith a friend of mine who works for Chattanooga Shooting Supplies. Primers are not to be found at this time and CCI has a 6-8 month back order on them. I have looked at several online vendors and have had no luck finding any primers. Does anyone know where to get them?

3 mags is all you have to have to shoot IDPA. The round count is usually 75-100 rds max. Cleveland only charges $10 to shoot, and the matches are a fun learning expierience. If you like to shoot you will probably enjoy IDPA. If you are a new shooter at a local match you will be allowed to shoot with whatever gear you have, and if you like the game you can buy legal gear later. A cross draw holster or shoulder holster is about the only thing I can think of that is always a no-no, and that is for safety reasons. Come out and watch if you like, but you'll likely wish you brought your gun!

I have one that was made in 1917, I put a new recoil spring in it and shoot it occasionally. If your pistol is in good condition it won't hurt it a bit to shoot it. Other posters have advised not to shoot it if it is in new unfired condition, and I would agree with that otherwise................

I hope someone with more knowledge than myself chimes in, but I would not do that if I were you. The difference in bullet diameter would limit the accuracy, the rim dimensions are different, the .32 is semi rimmed while of course the .32 long is rimmed etc. It may not dangerous, both cartidges being low pressure, but I would not risk damaging that nice pistol without a more difinitive answer.

My hot water heater holds 50 gallons, is used daily so the water in it is fresh. It might have a little sediment in it, but in an emergency that would not be an issue. Most all of us have one and 50 gallons should get you by for a while anyway. My 2 cents.

The Glock 30 would meet all but one of your requirements, too bad its plastic. If you get a chance to shoot one you might get over that though, they shoot pretty *#@* good for an ugly plastic brick.

The 625 Mountain Gun is sweet, mine is my favorite revolver hands down. The recoil is not bad, and I like the weight biased towards the back of the gun, for me it makes transitions faster. I shot mine for a season of IDPA and had a ball with it. If you are a shooter and you get to shoot a 625 of any persausion be prepared to buy, they are fine guns.

For a person with limited arm strength a .22 mag revolver might be a good choice. Taurus makes an eight shot light weight snubby that is easy to shoot and has virtually no recoil. I realise the .22 mag would not be on most of us shooters short list of self defence rounds, but in this instance it might have some merit. What ever caliber you decide on I think a revolver would be a better choice for your friend, autos just take more training and TLC than most non-shooters are willing to put in, the simplicity of the revolver is its greatest asset. JMHO

I love 1911s and own several, it is my favorite range gun and what I usually compete with in IDPA, that being said I carry a Glock. I think the Glock is a better general purpose gun because it is almost always reliable right out of the box they are cheap they hold more ammo and are practically impervious to abuse. Your decision could be solved logically by simply purchasing both guns.

Reminds me of my first run on a star, in a match of course! I missed my first shot at it stationary, and thought Oh #@*# I hope I have enough mags left to clean this thing! Took six more rounds to do it, its easier than it looks, DAG is right on, use the sights! To the OP I know a guy who makes stuff like that, PM me and I'll give you his name.

My .54 likes 90 grs. with a patched round ball, 25 grs. works great in my .36, based on that 15-20 grs. sounds right for a .32 My .36 will handle alot more than 25 grs. but accuracy starts dropping off above that. Hope this helps.

I'm in, I have not visited DC in over 10 years, it's one of my favorite places to sightsee anyway. Arlington Cemetary and the changing of the gaurd at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier will send cold chills down your spine. It is ironic that the seat of democracy, the place that keeps the Bill of Rights etc. forbids the excercise of those rights inside its boundary, but its a cool place to visit anyway.
