  1. I need a new keyboard. Mine is full of Dr Pepper now....
  2. I'm just throwing this out there. Sig is coming out with an LCP sized 9mm, the P290. Just something else the OP might want to think about....
  3. Well sure, You know there were never any murders before the invention of firearms...
  4. I know on the Model 94 (30-30) the deluxe models have checkering on the foregrip and stock as opposed to just a plain wood stock and foregrip.
  5. If you are trying to iwb carry with the same pants you wore before you carried then, yeah, I can see how that might be uncomfortable. Some guys are worse than a woman when it comes to what "size" they wear. "I do NOT wear 38's, I'm a 34 and have been since high school." I think there was even a Seinfeld episode about it. Anyway, If your pants aren't too tight to begin with you'll be fine with IWB. I feel it offers another level of protection. Not only is the gun in a holster, it's inside my jeans too.
  6. Call Allen's Gun Shop in CLarksville it that's not too far. They may squeeze you in.
  7. Glad it worked out for you. Not to thread jack but I didn't know you could have more than one copy of your HCP. I thought it was like a Driver's License.
  8. I didn't read all 14 pages, just the first two post. While no one has ever failed the HCP test I did learn a few things in the class. There were even two people in my class who, after taking their gun out of the box, asked the instructor to show them how to load it and aim...
  9. Straight Golden Sabers for me.
  10. Wow, This thread really went places after I went to bed! And yes, I remember when the guy pulled and didn't point and got in trouble. That wasn't the one I was thinking of with my brandishing remark though. This thread is heading in the same direction as the 14 pager I linked on page 2.... Stay Safe Everyone!
  11. Sorry, I mis-spoke. Not charged with brandishing; charged for brandishing. Better?
  12. Here's some more reading for the OP. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handgun-carry-self-defense/45806-unholstering-your-weapon.html People can and have been charged with brandishing.
  13. My HCP instructor told us that you must be in fear for your life or serious bodily injury and getting your nose bloodied isn't serious bodily injury. Meaning a dude your size kicking your butt isn't just cause. Three guys bigger than you with baseball bats however is another story.
  14. One in the pipe, always. If you have a smart phone, surefire has a shot timer app. Time yourself drawing, pulling back the slide, aiming, then firing. Now time yourself drawing, aiming and firing. That extra time could be valuable.
  15. Come on now. How many people have only been guilty of a misdemeanor and talked themselves into a ride downtown? Or better yet, tried to run? The TV show COPS would have ended after the first season!
  16. That's the answer I was looking for in the "DMZ" thread. I wondered how far the courts would ever push it. I seems that either it's rare to be confronted or no one is talking about it. I hope it's the former.
  17. Thanks for reopening this thread and that was a good post David. Exactly what I was hoping we could learn from each other. You worded it better than I did. It seems either no one whats to share or it's pretty rare to get confronted in a posted place. I wasn't sure if you'd just be asked to leave or if you'd go directly to jail.

Isn't there some special deal until the 31st? You get extra mags and a holster or something?
  19. Not sure if you ever get to Clarksville or if it's still there but there was a gently used LCP at Tennessee Gun Country with a Crimson Trace for $400 or so. If you're into the whol laser thing, that is. I think it had an extra mag too but that may have been the gun next to it.
  20. My HCP instructor told us that to use deadly force, you must be in fear for your life. Gettting your nose bloodied isn't fearing for your life.
  21. I'm sure being taken to a hospital is one thing. I'm talking about being in a restaurant or mall. Somewhere you've gone voluntarily. Whether you saw the sign or not. I'm curious what happens or has actually happened to someone.
  22. I'm not trying to troll or start anything. The carry past the hospital sign thread got me thinking. Has anyone here or a "friend" actually been caught in a posted place whilst carrying? In the other thread the response was that you'd probably just be asked to leave. Is that true? Any LEOs here ever been called one someone? If so, what did you do? Or have you heard or even discussed what to do?
  23. Pistol grip Mossy. Jump in the truck and go to the range about 5 miles away. Wasn't sure if it had to be stowed behind the seat or could I just leave it on the seat beside me. Especially if getting pulled over.
  24. I may be overthinking this but is there any wrong way to transport a long gun in a vehicle with a HCP? (other than no chambered round of course.) What I'm getting at is can the long gun be concealed? For example in the passenger's seat under a jacket? Or does it have to be in plain sight?
  25. The best hand gun for a bear attack is one that won't easily get caught in his throat as it is going down.
