    .45 ammo recall

I wonder if its because they don't explode someone when they are hit by one of these rounds.
  2. My son is looking to begin Kung Fu training. There is a place called Shaolin Something on Hart Lane. Anyone have an opinion on that place? I am open to local recommendations. I can't go very far so only Nashville locations can be considered, east nashville would be even better. I would highly prefer someone who has is no more than once removed from traditional training with at least 20+ years of mastery.
  3. I was in the same boat, I ended up going with the pm9. I paid $100 more but worth it. .380 ammo is $5 more per box of HP ammo and $3 per fmj. 20-30 boxes of ammo later and it's no longer about cost of the more expensive gun. Just caliber preference and ease of shooting. I got the PM9 only because I'm so damn impatient. I will likely find myself with a Kimber solo if they start going for $570 or so.
  4. You are my new favorite person.
  5. I have a Cetme, collecting dust. I can sell it, buy a Hi-Point Carbine and have some cash to boot. Cons a. I am not taking the cetme dear hunting (a bit crass) b. the cetme is expensive to feed c. heavy: Carrying this over a long range isn't ideal d. the carbine is 9mm, so 100 yards of effective range (will I ever need more?) Pros a. Big ass bullet b. 400 yard effective range c. it looks tacticool. I am thinking: Sell the Cetme for $500 Buy a Hi-Point carbine for $175.00 - Great CQB/ Cheap to feed / fun to shoot/ Buy a Mosin 91/30 - $100 Similar ballisitics to .308/ ammo is cheap but not easy to find locally/ take it deer hunting Take the other $200 and save up for a Glock/1911/Sig Thoughts?
  6. Bud's is in KY, that's local enough... right?
  7. He sure does have balls. Do they come in brass? Do you cup them when you shoot? When it's cold outside do they get smaller?
  8. I need to shoot one of those. I love the 1911 grip angle.
  9. It proves nothing. I don't give a damn about connecting to people who want to call me a friend but doesn't really know me. Yes, the 1A does attach you to your comments. It's there so I can't persecute you for your comments. So you can say what you feel needs to be said without the fear. I can sure as hell form an opinion about someone from their comments though, as my freedom of expression. Don't read it? That's impossible. it's not about me avoiding what someone has to say. That's why I don't go to certain places. But, when it's everywhere, it's unavoidable.
  10. A. This isn't about TGO- B. "People are not going to say whatever they want to say", I kicked some kids ass in high school for slapping my little sister. His father called my grandfather and talked a good game. He asked what our address was so he could come over and open up a can of whoop ass on him. He was there in less than 3 minutes, slams on the brakes in the middle of our street. Jumps out of the car and runs to the door. My grandfather isn't a small man. 6'6' 370lbs. When he opened the door, the guy who was yelling through the door, shut the fudge up and apologized. I pointed and laughed. I find that a very good number of people wouldn't say in person what they say online. You're right, people should be nice just because. But the fact of the matter is some people are only nice because they have to be, not because they want to be.
  11. Anonymity makes people big and bad. It allows them to say things that are hurtful, untrue and crass without fear of anything linking their comments back to them (mostly). It also gives someone the chance to speak their mind, exercise freedom of speech and a platform to gain confidence to later form a valid argument. There is a big part of me that thinks that Internet Anonymity (IA) is for the most part abused. Some people wouldn't say half the **** they say if their logins were linked to their facebook profile. I am not speaking specifically about TGO but all forums. Facebook login sights have MUCH less BS than CNN or Fox. The replies there are downright deplorable. I believe in freedom of speech. It is something that we take advantage of all too much. Not until we read a story on someone getting stoned for speaking their mind do most people think about it. While I may not agree with everything that people have to say, I have risked my life to defend their right to say it. If a bill for ending IA came to up I would vote for it. Would you?
  12. My Taurus pt140 was very inaccurate. And much thicker than the pf-9. Caliber isn't the issue. I would pick the one that you have best shot placement with. I have had a few Taurus' in my day and 0 issues with the lot.

    9mm Texas-style

I'll give you $200 for it. I will even drive to pick it up.
  14. There are indeed two sides to every story. So either the clerk didn't mention the loaner program or the complainant took offense early and allowed it to go one ear and out the other. I am sure they see many malfunctions between all kinds of brands. I haven't heard anything (internet, buddies, and my own bersa) that would warrant a ban. At least, not so much than any other gun. I have actually heard more bad things about Taurus (which has run FLAWLESS) than besra (my first handgun, and still have it with zero failures). People will get offended when you turn away their gun brand. It's something that they trust their life to. Something they have complete and total faith in. Be careful.

  16. Are there any that you can think of? preferable something that concealable. I keep hearing that they are out there. Can you think of any?
  17. I know 10 green berets who disagree wholeheartedly. Quite a few gentleman in the 5th group prefer them.
  18. I was reading on how the EMB behaves differently in hard/soft targets. I may pick some up. No more worrying if the the bad guy who is putting someones life in eminent danger has on a ballistic vest he/she bought off ebay. I know people who mix bullets in the magazine just for these scenarios. Here is a good read. Raoul Wagner's defense load test (EMB, EFMJ, .45, .40, 9x19mm)

    Ruger SR9C Pron

What kind of issues? I buy Remington all the time. Their JHP are the same price as other's fmj's and fire great. I was thinking of getting an SR9c, but have a couple of thousand rounds of remington.
  20. Taurus has a slim .40. I had the nine, very reliable but I didn't like the trigger. It was actually fun at the range too.
  21. It's coming right for us! I was reminded of this... WARNING: Link is VERY tasteless and juvenile. It's Coming Right For Us (Season 1, Episode 3) - Video Clips - South Park Studios
