  1. All good and creative ideas. Remember from you HCP class, your eyes are busy watching the BG and watching for that threshold where you fear for your life. Your about to take the life of another but your brain is weighing every detail against the legal boudaries. Your brain is taking info provided by your eyes and it will NOT let you change focus to a little white dot on the end of your barrel, not going to happen. So instinct, muscle memory, experience comes in to help out. You "point shoot"
  2. Good info, the kind of stuff I was hoping for. I've been comparing against other mil-surplus like the cz82/83.
  3. I'm glad someone admitted that some things are dangerous, greater risk. It is foolish to tell someone "just keep your finger off the trigger and everything will be OK". The CZ52 is a great example and there are others if we just think about it. It is a mechanical devise and things wear, break, etc........and sometimes it occurs without warning. Maintain muzzle control at all times +1
  4. Can't find out much about it. Anyone know what features. Straight blowback I guess, 3.5" barrel maybe? Decocker?
  5. Feel in the hand, balance, features, etc.......the Walthers continue to be a good choice. I love the mag release.
  6. I've known Ron Ramsey for many years. He lives and was raised just a few miles down the road from me. We used to see each other often, mostly at auctions, church events, local boy scouts, etc.....He is a great East TN kind of guy. Character counts!
  7. Just trying to fill an available spot with tight dimension and this model fits but not sure about the brand. Others I have already in place will stay as is.
  8. Electronic can be a little risky, ask the Toyota techs.
  9. I have a small hidden corner of the house where this model would fit. The measurements are just right. They're closing out the stock at the Tractor Supply and have them for $299.oo This model has the combination lock, blah blah (see web site). Anybody have any experience with Sentry Safe with the combination vs digital set-up?
  10. I saw one at Alberts Pawn Shop in Bristol for around $350. It was the long barrel. Looked a little rough.
  11. Sgt. Joe makes a good point on the Walther, trigger guard mag release. With my first Walther I almost went with a Sig because I just didn't know about adapting to the mag release. But it has been great. It has become a feature I love for lots of reasons.
  12. Another vote here for the Walther P99. But sight picture to your eye vs hand, features that fit you, etc..........too many factors. But it is Walther for me.
  13. "shoplifters!" Now that topic burns me! No Pockets, No huge purses, etc............
  14. I got a box of that at Walmart about a month ago and I've seen it at the same store since then (Bristol). About $33 or so sounds right, 100rnds. It is pretty low grade stuff, target only. I passed on 3 boxes of it a couple weeks back.
  15. I purchased a Walther P22 back in October, mainly for the wife, she used it for the HCP class running mini-mags. I familiarized her with the features and off we go. She had never actually fired it, yet hit all 48 of 48 quite well. It has had another 200 rounds run thru it with NO issues. But again, I've only run mini-mags thru it. I'm very happy with the gun.
  16. Also, storing ammo "primer up" will help. Rimfire ammo seems to be the worst for failing to ignite properly as it ages.
  17. I bought a box of 100 WWB two weels ago at Walmart for $35.97+ tax
  18. You guys are a hoot! I hope market forces will eventually prevail and .380 ammo will become more common. There have sure been a bunch of them sold in just the last couple years.
  19. Thanks for the heads-up on a new .380 source. I purchased a box at Walmart two weeks ago in Bristol so maybe it is comeing back. They had received five 100rnd boxes that day.
  20. Interesting thread. I normally ask and as stated, some shops have a set policy. But for shops where all the staff know the product really well; they seem to understand that it is a gun specific question. Some designs will accomodate it and some absolutely not.
  21. Walmart in Bristol TN had several choices in 9mm and 5 boxes of 380. Also 45, 32, 357

    Walther PK380

I checked out the PK380 yesterday. I purchased a new P22 back in Octorber and love it so I went to the gun shop specifically to look and this 380. Dittos on being easy to rack the slide but the gun did feel a little cheezy. Not sure how to explain it. As far as the slide release, it's not a big deal to me, I can live without it. Funny cause that's a 'show stopper' for some people.
