  1. Like I haven't seen you shoot or should I say miss steel before. I may even shoot my .45 again just to make it fair.
  2. Thanks John. It was a great match with some awesome stages. It was great to meet and shoot with all the new people and close friends in squad 1.
  3. The heavier 147 gr bullet will give you less felt recoil for the same power factor than will a lighter bullet. Mix in the faster powder like Titegroup and this improves even more. It can also lead to problems because pressure can become a factor. As long as you are loading to the lower end of the legal power factor it usually isn't a problem. Titegroup is a great powder for this application but only with jacketed or plated bullets. It burns hot so is smokey as hell with lead and coated bullets. You also have to be carefull with Titegroup because a light load like you are wanting won't fill half the case. This means that if you are not carefull you can double charge a case and thats when things go boom. There is no real reason to change loads for IDPA and steel. A good 130-135 pf load works great for both especially with the heavier bullets. If you go with the 147s your M&P probably won't chamber anything much over 1.140. Usually about 1.125 - 1.130 will feed well and give some room for the occasional variance in length everyone gets. Your Unique powder would be fine for normal power loads. Its not a great powder for the lower end stuff though.
  4. Had a great time today. I actually shot better than I was expecting. It was nice to meet all the new people in my squad. Thanks Michael for a really fun day at the range.
  5. Should be fun. I haven't picked up a gun in six or seven weeks but I'm looking forward to it.
  6. All you really have to be is Classified in the sport and have the legal equipment. Everyone is broken down into their skill level, Marksman, Sharpshooter, Expert and Master so you only compete against people of relative skill. I shot my first major after just a few times at the local matches. I had a blast and it really inspired me to shoot more and improve. I encourage everyone to go to a major match for the experience and the Music City Cup is one of the best.
  7. Good match today Robert. It was a lot of fun.
  8. Should be a fun time. Anytime I get to pull out the rifle is good. See yall there.
  9. It was a great day to be on the range. It was nice to see everyone and to meet all the new guys who shot on bay #1. Thanks for helping paste and keep things moving along. I hope to see all of you at the range again.
  10. I guess I'm going to have to actually buy a Glock to shoot at these things.
  11. No rain. No mud.
  12. It was a great day at the range. Really fun stages and a great bunch of people to shoot with. I didn't shoot all that well on most of the stages but had a wonderfull time. Ok, I will admit stage 4 went well and was smoking fast. If only all of them had gone as well. Thanks for the fun stages Robert. Love the new canopies Michael.
  13. Looking forward to meeting you and your friends. Glad yall are coming out.
  14. Can someone clarify how the divisions will be split up?
  15. It will be fine for new shooters. In fact, since there won't be a lot of rules (except safety of course) it might actually be easier for new shooters. Stay in the shooting box and hit all the targets is pretty much all you will have to do.
  16. Thanks to everyone in group 1 for all the help keeping things running smooth. It was great meeting some new people on a wonderful day of shooting. Good meeting and shooting with you Rick, I enjoyed our discussions.
  17. That sounds like the 3rd stage at Henry County this past Saturday. It was a Vickers count stage which means you can shoot to your heart's delight. No rules in IDPA prevent you from reloading as needed in a Vickers count stage. If your SO said you couldn't reload then he told you wrong. I know it wasn't described that way to the squad I was in.
  18. Glad we could make it Rickey. I know we all had a good time. I only got to see you shoot a couple of times but your tearing up that revolver. Nice shooting.
  19. Great shooting Chandler, your time was very fast. I would have liked to see you shoot the match.
  20. celtic, There are several of us who make the drive from Clarksville and sometimes carpool. It's not really that far, I live by exit 1 and make the drive in a little over an hour. I plan to be at RR this Saturday so look me up.
  21. For your first time out you did great Kevin. The walking while shooting this isn't something most people are used to doing. You came back and did great the second time around. Look forward to seeing you on the range again.
  22. The weather held out and it was a nice day to shoot. It was good to see all the new faces and to meet new people. Thanks to everyone in my group for pasting and keeping things moving. It was a fun day on the range and I hope to see yall out there again.
  23. You're one of those Messin' With Sasquatch guys aren't you?
  24. Glad everyone had a good time. Be sure to come back and get classified at the next match. If you liked today you will love the regular IDPA matches. I hope to see yall at the range again.
