I was laughing when I saw this thread considering I was having a very similar conversation just this morning with a couple of guys in Clarksville. We were shooting a local match out at Rattlesnake Ridge and Gary and Kim were telling me about running around shooting carpenter bees with their 22 rifles. Hearing them tell their stories had me LMAO.

Great match today guys. Thanks for all the hard work for everyone who helped with setup and teardown. The weather actually turned out ok. It was a little cold but the rain held off. It was great to see everyone there and I hope you had as much fun as I did. Rick

Usually done around 1:00 pm or so but it can vary.

Very true. We walked off with quite a bit of wood in 2010.

Cool to see one of the guys in the magazine. I know one thing for sure, it was an interesting day of shooting. Pouring rain in the morning and sweltering heat in the afternoon. Our group represented MCTS very well that day.

Titegroup is a good powder for light to medium loads in .40 but it won't even come close to filling the case. Power Pistol works very well for medium to hot loads and fills the case nicely.

As we all know, IDPA is a game and shouldn't be considered tactical training. On the other hand we also know that many valuable shooting skills can be learned and enhanced by participating. At the match this past Saturday I was speaking to one of our newer shooters and he said something that I have heard on more than one occasion but it remains poignant. “I thought I was a good shot until I came out here and found out I wasn’t.†He then commented on the thought that if he had this much trouble performing under the pressure of the clock, how would he perform if he actually had to defend himself. I think that is a very important question each of us who own or carry guns for self protection should think about. This match is a perfect time for everyone to get out and meet some of your fellow shooters, have a good time and maybe even learn something. I hope to see all of you there. Rick
