  1. Coming home with a SSP Master trophy aint bad shooting. Glad you had a good time and happy you didn't get arrested even though I would probably teased you about that one at the next match.
  2. Gun, magazine, ammo, eye and ear protection and you are good to go. Bring a holster if you have it or gun rag or bag for between stages. It should be a fun day at the range.
  3. Doing my part. If you have that much experience gunrunner you will be fine starting at any of our matches. We have first time shooters every match and walk them through the process. Just come on out the first time you get the chance, we would love to have you.
  4. I've had a few people from work express interest. Hopefully all of them will show up.
  5. This will be a great time for anyone who ever thought about doing more than just standing at the range making holes. The hardest part about getting into competition shooting is actually going to your first match. At this match you will be able to get a taste of it without any intimidation or pressure. Come on out, be safe and I know you'll have fun.
  6. Fun match today guys. The weather turned out much better than I was expecting and the stages were fun. I don't get to shoot with you guys that often but I always have a good time.
  7. I hate that I missed it. I had to make a business trip to Jamestown NY. It was cold and snowy and I'm glad to be back.
  8. I sent it on 12/22/11 and got it back on 1/12/12. I was very please with the turn around considering all the holiday time in between.
  9. I was a little nervous about it too. If I hadn't won a gift certificate at the Music City Cup I probably wouldn't have ever done it. I thought about it for over a month before finally deciding to go for it. After getting back though, I am very pleased with how it turned out.
  10. Thanks Allen. I think it turned out very nice. I posted some pictures in the show and tell area. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/67762-cerakote-finish-m-p.html
  11. I received a certificate at the Music City Cup for cerakote work from King's Custom Coatings. I decided to get the work done on my M&P9 Pro. I got it back a couple of days ago and it turned out great. The work looks good and the service was great. I appreciate that King's supports our club, our sport and this site. Gun Dipping Firearm Refinishing Cerakote Refinishing Exhaust Coating Powder Coating I had the slide and four magazines done in Burnt Bronze. The finish is a little more matte than it looks in the pictures.
  12. Fun match today. It's nice to do something a little different sometimes. Great to see everyone and glad to meet you Terry. Here is a video of the match. Sorry for the camera being a little out of level. For those not there today, each stage except the shoot house was shot five times and the best four times were scored. I got sloppy on the shoot house but was happy with the other stages. Thanks for hosting it guys.
  13. It's going to be a little cool in the morning but should warm up when the sun comes out. I haven't been to Gallatin in a while so I'm looking forward to it. It should be a fun match.
  14. It was a fun match today. Great to see everyone there. Thanks to whoever let us use their shotgun.
  15. GSSF is about as newbie friendly as any of the shooting sports. Just about anyone with a Glock can do it. The G34 can be used, but check to see which divisions they are allowed in. If you go to a match, plan to shoot or you will wish you did. Accuracy is very important for GSSF because of the way scoring is done.
  16. I don't know anything about the PPQ but the M&P is a fine weapon. I have a 9mm and a .45 that I shoot in IDPA and love them. I have a 9c that I carry. They feel good, shoot great and I have never had a single problem from any of them.
  17. Here is a good information pack we keep on our website that explains a lot about IDPA. http://www.mctsclub.com/Welcome_to_IDPA_Shooting.pdf
  18. Looks like a fun match. I hate I can't come. It's my wife's birthday. If it goes well maybe we can do it again some time.
  19. If you have the basic equipment take it and shoot the match. As DMark said, IDPA is very new shooter friendly. Just go, be safe, and have fun. I shot in the first match I ever saw. I was slow and not very accurate but had a great time and kept coming back.
  20. Congrats on the win Matt and the bump to Master. Congrats to Allen also on his win and bump to Expert. Great job guys.
  21. I think a fun time was had by all. I really enjoyed the stages. Thanks to the KY crew for putting on a great match.
  22. Talk with the guy here, he can tell you everything you need. He is great to work with and only charges $20 for the transfer. Bellshire Hardware 3837 Dickerson Pike, Nashville, TN 37207 (615) 860-4212
  23. I hope you enjoy shooting CDP, I know I have. I am begining to learn how to do it a little and it has been fun. I saw the scores, and your 120.67 is a very nice time for being new to CDP. Once you get used to the difference in recoil and timing it gets easier. Glad you got SS, you are shooting well enough to deserve it. It looks like we had a good turnout on Saturday, sorry I missed yall. Me and Codi went to Lexington to the horse races at Keeneland and had a blast.
