  1. I'm glad to see there was someone who carried (admit to) one. I really liked the sights and they were fully adjustable. If you can carry a 4 inch 45 then it seems the weight would be no different. I'm thinking of buying one to take on horse trips and short runs to the store. I think you could tuck in iwb and be alright.
  2. Will anyone admit to carrying a Hipoint for a concealed carry weapon? Even just one time? I have shot one and it was as accurate as any other pistol I shot that day. I know most people on here have better guns but is there anyone who has carried a hipoint for self defense?
  3. I have the opportunity to buy a chief special in 9mm with nite sights. What is the value of this pistol and are they good carry guns?
  4. Hello from east tn. There is a good place to eat in Knoxville called Chandlers. Great fried chicken or turkey and more than you can eat. If you are here in early August you should come down to fort Loudon and see the re-enactments. I'm not sure which weekends but it should be on their website. One weekend is a full blown surrender of the fort and another is a garrison weekend where they show the daily life in a fort. Also need to take a ride across the dragon.
  5. Just came through from Pigeon Forge Monday. I live south of Maryville so maybe we could find a place to shoot. Good to have another east tenn. fellow here. Lots of good info comes through here so check often.

    cs 45

Need some quick help on smith cs45. I am looking at buying one and wonder what people have to say about them. How well do they function? Are they finicky with ammo?
  7. Has the NRA come out in support of nay of the candidates?

    taurus 905

Need someone to give me reviews on the 9mm revolver made by Taurus. How do the stellar clips hold up in a pocket? How accurate are they?
  9. New store over here in East TN offered me a deal. I give him my sw642 and 100.00 for his FEG hi-power clone. He had 320.00 on the clone. That makes my smith worth 220.00. He had a used one in his case for 425.00. I didn't even speak to the guy, just laid down his gun and walked out with this weird look on my face. No need for me to go in there anymore. I'll spend a little more at a place that I know is fair with their trades. I will at least know he gave the guy before me a decent price on the trade!!

    45 acp

OK, trying to find the best off brand 45 for a starter. Not Kimber's, Colts's, etc.. RIA High Standard maybe base models of known brands. I need it to be reliable, economical, and can change parts fairly easily. If you have experience with different brands please expound.
  11. Buy the glock 23 then spend a little more to get the 9mm conversion kit. You will then have two guns in the same frame. Same trigger pull to practice on and 9mm cost less to shoot often.

    ruger p345

I am thinking about one of these and was wondering if someone who had one could give me some idea of how good they really are. Is it easy to EDC?
  13. Thanks, that sounds like what may be happening to me. I noticed that if I move my trigger finger to the pad of my finger I shoot much straighter. I does cause me to get tired quicker. I guess I'll build up to it.
  14. Does anyone have any suggestions why my shots go high right when I turn my thumbs down but are poa when I let my grip thumb ride up like with a semi? I have used both grips with and without the third finger hold and it does not matter.
  15. You might check the county mayor's office. Here in east TN if you are in the county (not the city) you can usually shoot on your property. Not late at night cause they can get you for disturbing the peace.
  16. Try the slip on Hogue. If you snug it up close it may be just enough to keep from pressing in and dropping mag. Also, do you shoot with both thumbs high? That may help with accuracy too.
  17. Can someone tell me if the three finger grips helps the shootability of the snub? I pull to the right with the short grips. I put the hogue grips on my full size 38 and it helped my accuracy a lot. Will it do the same if I have a set that is full size and covers the backstrap? Thanks for the input in advance.
  18. Do you have a comparison of specs on the two. I had trouble with my keltec due to recoil but if the Taurus is easier on recoil then it could be an option.
  19. I was thinking that there will always be 9mm around because of it being a military round. With the police going away from 357 and 38 there is not as much demand so I can see it disappearing during the guverment crack down on ammo. My wrist will not let me shoot semi's as light as the keltec. I always have feed issues with them. I know the revolver may kick more but it isn't going to jam on me if I limp wrist due to pain.
  20. I wonder if the 327 is really going to catch on. My gun dealer told me he had not had a single request for one and the ammo is hard to get.
  21. I know over here next to my house there is 3,000 acres of TVA/TRDA land that is hunted. Those people also carry a handgun. I would not think it is illegal to carry and all these people do.

    9mm revolver

Is the 9mm in revolver is a good idea? I have a chance to buy a Taurus 905. Does anyone have one and do they work well?
  23. How many of you would put the larger three finger grips on their 642? Doe s this hurt the conceal-ability of the gun very much? I pull to the right ( a little) when I shoot with the regular grips. I was wondering if the full grip would make any difference in this.
  24. Here's my question. If the sign is on the doors and I am in the parking lot then I have broken the law if the parking lot is owned by the establishment? Does that mean they have to post at the entrance of the property(section 3a1: or on property owned, operated, or managed or under the control of the individual, corporation, business entity or government entity.)? I will avoid the place. There are too many places around that offer similar services. One restaurant is almost the same as another. I'll be looking for the signs. What if someone breaks into my car in the parking lot? I am a criminal for having the gun stored so I can eat in their place of business. NO THANKS!!!!
  25. Since you are definitely progun it is great to have you here. I hope you have registered to vote so we can keep the Ill. style control away from here. You'll find great information on this site.
