  1. The streamlight strion is great light. Like a streamlight stinger but much smaller and just as bright.
  2. Not saying it wouldn't considered a residence for the sake of self defense but it has wheels and is easily mobile unless permanent it falls under the exemption for automobiles for a search with only probable cause and no search warrant. At least that's how it was back when I went through interdiction school. The only reason I bring that up is since we probably don't have any case law, that I personally know of, in regards to firearm possession inside a mobile camper where such camper may be in a posted property. I'm just throwing that out there for you but realistically you would probably be good. I also am not familiar with the land so it may not even be an issue to start with. I could be wrong and hopefully I am because I would hate for somebody to be the test case and lose their HCP for something silly.
  3. A camper isn't considered a residence unless permanently affixed.
  4. I didn't get a knock on the door. If I had they would have been told to kick rocks. I could understand a mailout survey but I don't like strangers near my house. Plus I sleep during the day so I definitely would have been ill.
  5. Go ahead an spend the money. Most detectors don't pick up quick enough if a good radar or lidar operator is working the speed measuring device. I just like turning off and on near people with detectors to drive them crazy with the noise.
  6. Yep they have been aware of the issue for several years. At MEPS they check for tattoos but you know some don't really care what the tattoo is and some gangs get people without tats to enlist.
  7. Yes you get your bullets too, but you can reload your magazine yourself.
  8. This has already been posted but it is a good question. What I do and have done is secure your weapon in my department's armory. When you are able to come get your firearm you sign on the property form saying it is released to you and that's it. If for some reason it makes it to the hospital with you security will typically secure it in a safe for you.
  9. Oakley Half Jacket XLJ
  10. That's great. Occupy a hairnet and a name tag and pay some taxes.
  11. What about on target in Murfreesboro? I have shot my ar15 there before but couldn't hurt to ask if they allow that caliber.
  12. I use only range ammo for the range. Unless we are shooting duty ammo to replace it with new duty ammo. Your self defense or duty ammo should be fine but if it makes you feel more comfortable popping off a few rounds just to put your mind at east that the ammo is good then do it.
  13. I wouldn't do that. A decent caliber round is going to pierce vehicle glass, doors, and whatnot. Look at bonded rounds if your worried about penetration.
  14. Licenses changed almost a year ago. Everything newly issued should be that design. The mostly white license with light blue skyline of batman building and the memphis pyramid.
  15. Is there fear of serious bodily injury or death from a bat and a knife? You better believe it. You are not defending your property but your life. In a perfect world you could safely drive away but you do what you have to do to go home.
  16. Looks good. I really like the new layout scheme. It is kinda hard for me to tell if the topic is highlighted for newer postings but I like that TN State Flag banner.
  17. LEOSA provides for concealed carry only. Regardless of any state laws you may carry concealed as long as you meet the criteria and such.
  18. No ID is required to be on person except for a driver's license while operating a motor vehicle. I seriously doubt H'ville has any city ordinance that requires to be in possession of ID at all times.
  19. Lithium strips from batteries with the other ingredients start a chemical reaction to cook it. It's horrible stuff and extremely volatile. The shake and bake bottles are popping up more and more. The suits we have to wear to dismantle the labs won't protect at all from the explosion lol.
  20. If you don't want them to search say no. If you want to allow them to search then say yes. Why are people getting bent out of shape because some people allow it and some people don't? How long will this thread go on I believe the original question was answered.
  21. So should any officer who allowed an intoxicated person to be taken home by a sober ride be fired? What are they going to fire him for? Was he charged, no he wasn't so there is no evidence other than the tape where he says I've been drinking. Do I agree with 5 days? absolutely not I would have done a lot more and maybe even fired him myself. I believe we as LEO's are to be held to a higher standard but don't assume he or anyone else should lynched up from a tree. There has to be fine line between the off duty and on duty accountability.
  22. Yea, I will have to find it or maybe it changed but I seem to remember if a HCP holder refused to show their HCP they were to be suspended for a certain period of time from the TDOS. I haven't looked at it in awhile since I really don't have or had any problems with permit holders and don't expect to.
  23. More than likely if you were asked to produce a HCP and you were open carrying and you refuse to produce the HCP you would be detained for unlawful possession of a weapon. If during the investigation they determined your HCP was valid and decided not to proceed with a charge then they will contact TDOS and have your HCP suspended. This is just a possibility not a set standard or a recommended way to handle it.
  24. You must present a HCP permit if you are asked for it while carrying a firearm in Tennessee. So if you are just walking down the sidewalk OC and a LEO requests to see your HCP you must supply it. The few people I have actually seen walking around OC in general I didn't even look twice about them. Actually most permit holders produce it during a traffic stop voluntarily when I ask for their driver's license even though they do not have to. Don't worry even I have to show my creds/ID if some officer actually sees my firearm printing from my shirt. It happens it's quick and painless.
  25. I'll check my pile o junk. I should probably have some old glock holsters I don't use. I'll let you know.
