Got pulled over by Texas Highway Patrol
Pain103 replied to hammerdrop99's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I feel I don't deserve any thank you for the job I do. Now the men and women serving in the military on the other hand deserve to hear that day after day. My point is there are say 700,000 LEO in the U.S. but you have one run in with one idiot or see a news story and then blam out comes the negativity to whole field. I'm not here to change anyone's opinion but like you all I come to this forum also to unwind, see firearms related topics, and see what goodies are for sale. To the OP I'm glad you had a positive interaction and sorry I hijacked your thread. -
That's funny. Have you seen the Betty White video from that NPR skit. Hulu - Saturday Night Live: NPR

About as rare as finding a TGO member without something negative to say about Law Enforcement in general. -
Adventure Science Center posted?

I would have to told them to go pound sand. -
That sounds about right. Lol. Seriously though control of the vehicle is all that is needed and control doesn't mean operation. I don't jack with the people sleeping in their vehicle the way I see it was they were smart enough not to get on the road and be a danger.

Vehicle accident while carrying
Pain103 replied to AMSting's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
If you are incapacitated and the weapon is taken from you at scene I take it to the police department and lock it up in the armory for sake keeping. When you get ready stop by and sign the property release and you got your gun back. If you make it to the hospital they have safes and will probably have their hospital security lock it up. I have had to secure weapons from a crash scene and have had my weapon secured by hospital staff while being treated either one worked like it should. -
The way he has ordered ICE not to deport anybody but violent felons I would dare say he isn't going anywhere.

I have owned both and liked them. Had a bad experience with the bolt shearing in half on the mini 30. I never had one problem with the mini14 but either one will do the job.

They need to take a few more nightsticks against some heads over there. There has to be some kind of order , you can't just let these fools run wild ruining other lives.

I need some advice and i didn't know if this falls in this category or not.

Krasis PM if you would like. I have a good understanding of the drug seizure policies and laws. I have done several myself. -
Should this conflict ever arise what would you do?

First thing you should be concerned about is your family. As bad as it is to see someone else die or dead could you really stand to have a loved one in that condition? Me personally since I don't shop with a family I will probably pull the trigger depending on the risk of third parties. I have came close to pulling the trigger on the job and the only reason I haven't is because of the people or area behind my target. You may hit the suspect and stop his actions but say another round strikes an innocent third party that one stray round will wash away the good one in the eyes of many. -
I could be wrong but I believe it's part of Fort Negley park hence the same address.

Just a suggestion for you guys. Please if you are involved in a shooting and you make the call yourself tell the dispatchers your description and clothing. We have many great dispatchers but sometimes they get amped up like everybody else and will not ask. I would like to know that ahead of arriving at your scene.

It is a Metro park. My understanding was there is no carrying on any metro parks thanks to the horrible metro council.

I got my HCP under my LEO certification. No issues at all.

If it is a traffic citation that is past due there you shouldn't be a warrant. Ordinances can't summoned through an arrest warrant. Once you miss court the department sends the citation in to the state to have your driver's license suspended. Typically they give you like 30 days after failure to satisfy before sending to TDOS. If it's a county citation you normally have to go to the courthouse with proof of insurance the day of violation and you will probably have to still have to pay a fine due to being late. Try to avoid getting it sent the to state. Once they suspended it you will be looking at a few hundred to get the license reinstated.

LexisNexis (michie.com) Has Changed
Pain103 replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm not really enjoying the change. The last version was so easy to navigate but I'll get use to it. -
I have the make, model, caliber, serial numbers, color description, and any accessories. Saved one on computer and one saved elsewhere.

Watch out somebody make get butt hurt and call you a racist. Seriously though the times have changed and people are getting more stupid as the days pass.

Run with a camelbak and carry it in one of the pockets. Keeps you hydrated and armed!

There is a difference in seized and taken for evidence. Typically seized would mean you used an item for certain crimes and can be seized by the department. This can be appealed by a hearing which is done on a normal basis. Then evidence taken for a crime is secured until deposition from the court. They will usually order either the weapon to be returned or forfeited. I personally see no reason why a weapon that the department isn't going to use shouldn't be sold to someone who can lawfully own it. But I do believe the money should only be lawfully used for purposes of the Law Enforcement Department as drug seizures are mandated by law.

During Big O's next term.

They already made them illegal in TN this past session if I'm not mistaken. These people out on the street hyped up this junk are like speed freaks.
