They didn't have time to talk to me.

I have built a lot of these things. First headspace problem I have seen. I have a set of Forster gages now. I'll check every one going forward.
-
OK... so it turns out that the window licker that assembled the barrel assembly headspaced the damn thing wrong. The gun made it to West Tennessee and wouldn't go into battery. Taught me two things. 1. Never assemble an AR without checking headspace, cause there really are people dumb enough to feck that up these days. 2. Never ever again buy an AR Stoner barrel, cause we know where at least one of said dumbasses works. The gun is now wearing my second Ballistics Advantage Premium barrel, and the headspace is fine. The Stoner barrel is in UPS, headed back to the dumbass.

Them folks were destined to get forked when they gave up their guns.

Any AR15 Builders Nashville Area?

Lowers are easy. You need a few tools. Don't forget to stake the castle nut. -
See what you started Robtattoo? This 1000 rounds went pretty quick with the Jig you recommended. These are ready for powder and bullets...

I may be able to say if I can get out and shoot it. There are some good reviews out there that deal with reset. And yeah, I can see why you would want single stage in a 3 gun trigger.
-
You mean the satisfaction of not changing the sear engagement angle and accidentally shooting one of the neighbor's ducks? Messing with triggers can be a dangerous thing. You probably need a jig. My guess is that the Larue is cheaper than the tools.

I just installed a Ballistics Advantage Premium barrel and it came with a pinned lopro gas block. It has a roll pin that's installed like the pins in an A2 sight. I will most likely buy that jig. https://brdengineering.com/t/gas-block-drilling-jigs

I used to be that way. Now I'm a big 2 stage fan, even in light triggers like the Geissele National Match (I have a couple of those. I feel like I can control a 2 stage better.
-
I've read about the reset. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Yeah, price has a lot to do with it. I wouldn't have spent Geissele money on my truck gun.

I just installed a Larue trigger on my truck gun, and it's GREAT. I bought it because they are selling for $87 right now. So, I thought, why not? Coming from a guy that owns 5 Geissele triggers, I probably won't buy any more Geisseles until the price of the Larue goes back up. Somebody asked Mark Larue why they were selling them so cheap. His response was that he wanted to get 50,000 of them in the field by Christmas. When it hit the market, it was $250. So, if you have ever wanted a Geissele, but just couldn't bring yourself to drop that much cash, buy these with confidence. There are reviews out there comparing the Larue to the Geissele SSA and SSA-E. Everybody says the Larue falls between the SSA and SSA-E. I agree. Anyway... helluva deal!

I just stumbled across them. The premium barrels are pretty cool.

I just bought one of these. Will probably stick it on one of my rifles this week... https://ballisticadvantage.com/16-inch-223-hanson-mid-ss-premium-barrel.html

I may not get to shoot it. It's going to a friend in West Tennessee.

Crappy picture. It’s done
-
I like 'em. Shilen says it hurts the barrel. But, it's cute.
-
I was gonna say. You can turn it black if you don't like the color
-
I have always gone with stainless when I was going for accuracy. Both of my high end match barrels are stainless. Not sure they are offered any other way.
-
How does yours shoot? I have a Stoner barrel on my 300 Blackout. It does a decent job
-
Me too, especially when somebody else is buying. This one isn't mine.

Lower’s done.
