Josh123, You won't go wrong with the P22. Not sure about the Sig. They had problems at one time, but they may be fixed now. I don't think they have sold as many as Walther. Lots of p22's out there.

Mine doesn't have that because it came with a mag safety. I hope I don't shoot myself now that the mag safety is gone.

The thing I take away from all these threads... most of the real problems can be sloved without switching platforms. Not saying that they couldn't reinvent the wheel. Just saying that most of the issues can be fixed with a barrel and ammo change. 500,000 new rifles is pretty big money, especially if you figure the mods that will have to come after they field a new platform. The exception would be going to the 7.62. Does anybody think they'll really do that? Double the weight, and 3-4 times the recoil?

Modelone had some problems a few years back. My experience a few months ago was great. I placed my order on the internet, and followed up with a phone call a couple of days later. My upper was already built and headed for shipping. The girl at Modelone told me they try to get them out the door in two days.

Yep. The P22 had problems with mags early on. If you pick up a used one, you need to make sure the mags are the latest ones. Without saying, I think the OP is looking for a small pistol. Nothing wrong with a Buckmark or a Ruger, but...

No. It's fairly new. I don't think it's available for the 45 yet. The RAM just adds tactile and audible feedback when the trigger resets. I put mine in yesterday. Before, I couldn't feel the reset and could barely hear it. It's less than 30 bucks with shipping from Midway.

The sobering part about this... you have one FFL selling large quantites of AK's to individuals. Money is nice, but I wonder if any of the FFL's on this board would sell 40 AK's to one guy at one time without having some idea where they were going to show up. Not saying the ATF isn't overstepping, but they at least have some ammunition going in.

The P22 is fine. I don't have any problems breaking it down for cleaning. It helps to use the little plastic rod when you reassemble it. It's reliable, and accurate. I don't think I've shot anything but MiniMags in mine, but it has been flawless.

RAM installed (like it). Mag safety is gone. I used part of a spring from a ballpoint pen. Now, all I gotta do is figure out how to write that warning on the slide. Recon some red model airplane paint will work?
