Yep, and I think the main point from the OP was that his ignore button is worn out. Whiney or not, it kicked off one helluva thread. I don't think I posted anything on the "Impeach Obama" thread because I really am here for the guns. I'll discuss the politics of gun ownership all day long on this site, and ignore the rest.

Bzzzt: Is that a grammer violation? :-). My guns are toys. I've always owned at least a competent self defense handgun, but never could afford to buy stuff just because it's cool to own.

I don't have kids, so i have a few pistols lying around the house. But, my best HD gun is my Rem 870 12 ga. (18" barrel, 7 round mag). Stays loaded with single 0 buck, and that's its only purpose. People sometimes have two because you're not constrained by concealability at home, so you can have a nice, big service pistol/revolver at that's easier to shoot accurately. And, it's an excuse to own more guns :-)

Weaver rails have notches. They just don't conform to Picatinny spacing. Both of my pistols with rails only have one notch

From what I recall, Weaver and Picatinny are the same except Picatinny has uniform notch spacing

Well, we ain't gonna do much at all until somebody calculates or measures the ballistic coefficient of a golf ball. It's just a big bang until you can actually hit something with it. I'm trying to figure out how I can shoot one of these things over my chrony without setting it on fire now :-)

Yep, it's real scary. What's scarier is the fact that most of the ugliest gun control wordwide has been the result of a very few incidents. For example... One crazy guy shoots a fat politician, and now we have the Brady Bunch. We ALL have to put up with a ration of crap over that every day. I'm also not a bit concerned about YOU open carrying anywhere you choose, because I know you have plenty of sense. It ain't gonna go bad. In fact, the theater incident would have never made the news if it had been you... but it wasn't.

I love Mississippi's attitude about guns, but it's doubtful that anybody will follow their lead. It was fun during the Katrina aftermath. Some of the out-of-state LEO's got a kick out of granny shooing away looters with her 12 ga. :-)

And you could be right, but we ain't goinna prove it today. One thing we can COUNT on... a law will never be written that forces a property owner to accept open carry on his property, because that will infringe on his rights.

I didn't bother to research Zumbo. If he's one of those guys, he needs his butt whipped. I'm against open carry in the wrong situation because it makes more signs go up, and in some cases, gives the anti's more ammo.

I carry everywhere that's legal. I do have to admit that most of the time it's a J frame, so it's sissy carry. I'm breaking in new leather for my 1911, and I'm going to start carrying that when practical (not sissy carry). It's a pretty rig (galco holster and belt), but I'm not gonna show it off in public.
