  1. Mac or PC doesn't matter in that world so much anymore. It did in the beginning, but a lot of final art is generated on PC's these days. Adobe Illustrator is almost universal, and it doesn't care about the OS. My buds do lots of work for the music industry. My real point was, once they cock the presses for the job, they may as well run a few. Reminds me of the time I took a 727 from Nashville to Memphis. The problem was stopping in time :-)
  2. Let me find out the money. The cost is mostly in the setup charges, so it's probably lots cheaper to print a bunch in one place and distribute (if that's an option). Can Hunley provide Illustrator files for the seperations? AFIK, my folks don't use digital presses. I think they're direct to plate. The guy I'll see tonite is responsible for their presses, so he'll know all the technical.
  3. I have some good friends in Nashville that own a printing company. Should see one of them (also a gun owner) tonite.
  4. I like brown personally, but black goes with everything. I guess it depends on how much you're gonna show it off too. All they're gonna see is the front of my belt.
  5. Me too! This is good communication.
  6. Nope. You should hire the Brady Bunch to get that law changed :-). I don't want to lose one of my guns aor my permit, so I'm not going to carry in a posted place.
  7. I have read that if it's properly posted, you're breaking the law.
  8. I took the article with a grain of salt. Read too many positive range reports from owners of most of the guns in the article. I'll never count on my LCP for much, but it's more about the hole it makes than worrying about it going bang.
  9. I put a reduced power spring kit in mine. That improved things some, especially the SA pull, but that's as far as I'm willing to go. If I was going to go for a fully tweaked action, I would send it to a reputable action guy. For me, it's not a priority. My autos are the priority
  10. You're right. The LCR is really nice if you want a DAO revolver. I'm an old fart, so I like DA/SA. The LCR is probably smoother than the DA pull on my 637, but the 637 smokes it in SA mode. I fondled a bunch of revolvers when I bought the 637. The LCR wasn't out yet, but the S&W was simply the tightest out of all the ones I've handled. I've owned several S&W revolvers, but moved to Autos in the '70's. All my handguns are autos except for the 637.
  11. Welcome. You can't carry anywhere that serves alcohol
  12. Most manufacturers are banging these things out as fast as they can right now. For example, the Ruger LCP has great feedback from its owners. Mine had feed problems when cycling the slide because of tooling marks in the chamber. A breaking process would have smoothed it out, but I polished the feed ramp and chamber instead, just like THEY would have done on a more expensive gun. Mine was probably much worse than most. Still, it wasn't a design flaw, and Ruger would have fixed it if I wanted to go thru that hassle. It's great now
  13. I read the American rifleman article. It's disagrees with what I've read on the forums about several of the guns in the article. It's one guy against many
  14. The guy... Actions By T - Teddy Jacobson Pistolsmith
  15. I always liked the Colts best, but never owned one. Always been an S&W guy. There is at least one guy out there that does action jobs on revolvers, and gets high marks. I put a Wolff reduced power sping kit in my 637. Improved it some, but it's not like some of the great actions I've felt in the past.

    BUG

I love my guns, and make sure that if it's with me, it's going to be very reliable. The odds of me having to use deadly force are pretty slim, and the odds of an all out gun fight are even slimmer. Not going to fault anybody for doing it... just my thoughts on managing the risk.
  17. I've been watching it since it was announced. Actually went to the gun store to buy one and fondled it. Walked out with a 1911, but the PK is still on my list. From what I've read and seen... Pro's: Nice shooter, real nice fit in the hand Reliable, locked breech design. not blowback like most .380's Slide is easy to rack, low recoil for a .380. Great girl gun. Cons: It's big for a .380 Slide does not lock open Requires a take-down tool

Ditto. If I was an LEO, I would be worried about it. I'm not. If you gotta though, I agree with the list above, but may put the revolver first
  19. They always have AK's and AR's at specialty arms in La vergne
  20. Mine too, which means they're armed
  21. A couple of posters have suggested finding a used third generation S&W, and that's exactly what I would do. We can argue 'til the cows come home about the merits of the new $300 pistols, but the 3rd gen is not a $300 gun. personally, I wouldn't be afraid of a 1st or 2nd gen either if it was in real good shape. All three generations were used heavily by law enforcement in their day. My model 59 (1st gen) is still one of my favorite pistols.
  22. Looks like it's some old software. Latest OS supported is XP in classic mode.
