  1. A person needs to practice and become very familiar with what they plan to carry. As many will not practice after getting a permit, they should qualify with something similar to their carry choice.
  2. EMP 40 after initial trip to range.
  3. I will not have this problem, as I will not fly on Delta. Their decision to charge excess baggage fees to combat veterans returning home, has cost them them any future business from me.
  4. I also, had this happen several years ago. He should act immediately to get it cleared up. Mine was cleared within 48 hours of my call to Nashville. Since then, I've bought about 20 guns with no further problems.
  5. After disassembling, cleaning and lubing, the EMP 40 fired 200 rounds perfectly on its first trip to the range.
  6. Congrats! Remember it's not valid untill the Wally World trip has been completed.
  7. Congrats! KJ4WOU
  8. The pistol I carry most often is SS, as I don't wnat to worry about damaging the finish. My black and black/OD pistols get carried much more carefully.
  9. As much as I like my pistols, a revolver is the most reliable gun for someone who isn't going to practice and maintain it.
  10. ReWelcome to the forum! Thanks for your service.
  11. I'm aware that bear spray doesn't sound like anything I want to depend on when confronting a bear.
  12. I'll usually take 200-400 rounds depending on how may guns and calibers I plan to practice with.
  13. Welcome!
  14. Sometimes G&A has the lowest price, sometimes not. I've bought several pistols and rifles from them during the last few years. It's been the only place where I could find 6.8spc locally. The staff has always been polite and helpful during the times I've been there.
  15. You'll need a Technician License at a minimum, for Amateur Radio. Find an amateur radio club near you and they will inform you of classes to prepare you to pass the test.
  16. Kimber Ultra CDP II
  17. As I am not able to get both the 9mm and .40 EMP, I finally made a decision and ordered the .40, as I have several other .40 pistols.
  18. It may take less time to drive and transfer a firearm in person, than to ship a firearm.

    My new toy

Congrats on a nice pistol. I hope the saleperson warned you, the 1911 is highly addictive. Soon you will want another 1911 and will need reloading equipment.
  20. Welcome!

    AR 15 Pistol

The cost of feeding the 6.8 would make the .223 a better choice.
  22. The Ruger Mini14 ranch rifle is available in .223 or 6.8 spc. Mine has been accurate and trouble free during the several years I've owned it.
  23. I've had a Ruger 10/22 for years and it's been a reliable, easy to maintain rifle. While I like the 10/22, my next 22 rifle will be a Henry.
  24. The local ranges I've seen, often don't have a wide selection of pistols on hand, but are willing to order for me or do the transfer if I purchase on the internet.
