Kitchen Sink / Plumbing Question - *Additional Question*
bronco302 replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
If you haven't already done the job just a couple of pointers. When you shorten the parts you have marked there will sometimes be mold marks or logos at these high points. Be sure to scrape and sand these areas smooth or the washers will not seal. Also look for a shorter basket strainer foe the right hand side of the sink, just gives a little more play. HTH. Joe W. -
Don't look to hard and the opportunity will come to you. Do it secret if you can.

Last I heard Our glorious leader changed the second hammer drop to after the elections. Can't have people mad and thinking for themselves when they enter the booth.

Hotter than a two dollar pistol in Daisey Dukes, put up with me for three years while I ran wild. When I got that out of my system we got married and have been that way for the last 34 years, and She can make better cornbread then my Mom. Joe W.

No I don't know, wish I did. I do know that air gun makers claim some of their guns will do 1100 and 1200 fps but few get there. Those that do usually sacrifice accuracy or if a Spring gun they are very hard to shoot well. Most PCP shooters will keep their velocity below 1000 fps looking for a balance of shot count, accuracy and energy. This is a pretty good article about air guns and typical over the counter sound meters http://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2009/03/airgun-sound-level-measurement.html Bottom line high power air guns are not quiet unless you make them so, pop one off in the back yard and the neighbors will know you did something. Folk a couple of blocks over are going to know you did something. Oh and the super fast claims are usually done with the lightest pellets they can get and you will do good to hit the barn with that combo. Joe W.

Yes nowhere. You just named three Spring Piston air guns, completely different power plant. Lets try some PCPs from Pyramid air. Career 707 .22 carbine 126.2 decibels Career 707 rifle .22 126.3 decibels Hammond Wasp 9mm 126.8 decibels Sharp ace hunter .177 123.03 decibels How about a Daisey single pump 853 .177 116.50 decibels I've read a Sheridan pump will make 120 but I've not seen it. This is why so many are coming out with barrel shrouds now days. As far as my Falcon there is nothing wrong with it. I don't have a number on the Falcon but if you know someone with a meter I'll find out. I'll give you it may not make 140 decibels but it will get in the 120s. Oh and it appears you got your numbers off of Straight Shooters web site. None of the guns they list are PCP, all Springers. Joe W.

It can be a bit bothersome but they are safe. I've never heard of one that was not abused that come apart. Big thing is I have to drive thirty miles to legally discharge one of my firearms . I can sit on my 1/2 acre (keeping my lead on my land) and legally shoot my air guns ( yes I checked with the Sheriffs office) all day. That just make them fun. Joe W.
-
I'm not talking about a pump up Daisey. I've been shooting these things for twenty years. British made Falcon FN12, 850 fps with a 10.9gr pellet. you need hearing protection when you shoot it.
-
OK guys I'm a bit of an air gun nut. The Rouge is quite because it has an integral suppressor called a shroud. These are legal on air guns because they can't be put on a firearm, they come apart when removed. An air gun like the 9mm sounds like a .410 non suppressed. Even .177 sound like a .22 LR. These aint the daiseys you had as a kid. You need a special pump or as I do Scuba tanks as my rifles take 2600 to 3000 psi air charges. I also have a Shoe box compressure that turns 85psi air from a pancake compressure in to 4500 psi. HTH. Joe W. Also read http://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-1st-circuit/1527670.html

TN Bill to remove restrictions on knife possession and carry
bronco302 replied to Capbyrd's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
It has already passed and been transmitted to the Governor's desk as of 5/6/2013. He has to sign , or veto it, or doesn't it become law without his signature on July First? Joe W. P.S. just looked it up in the Constitution, if the Gov does not return it to Legislature within Ten days with his resons for vetoing it becomes law without His signature. So acording to that He has 7 days to veto it or sign it. Then it is law anyway. -
For me it's not about any fear or safety issues I just made up my mind that if i was going to the trouble and expense to get setup I would carry. Lucky for me my employer lets me keep one in my car at work so other then those 8 hours if my pants are on I'm packin. Joe W.

That is what the original was suppose to have done and they did not change the wording. Looks like the state is the only one who can play in this field. Joe W. -

It would have been nice for this to have slid through on greased wheels, but killing the patch work ordnances across the state will be a huge step. Lets just stay on them. Joe W. -
What is a good knife sharpener to buy?
bronco302 replied to jeff43's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
All depends on the belt grit. I use these http://www.leevalley.com/US/Wood/page.aspx?p=48040&cat=1,43072 the 15µ (Micron) Silicon Carbide Sharpening Belts, and the Aluminum Oxide Grinding Belts in 320, 500, and 1200 grit. I'v used oil stones all my life but these on a 1x30 belt sander are just cool. Oh and keep your blade cool. Joe W. -

Next step is the full Committee http://www.capitol.tn.gov/house/committees/finance.html that's on 4/9/13. If this is the last committee and it passes it's on to the House. A pass there gets it on the way to the Governor. Get in touch with the Committee Members and see if we can get it out of there. -

Man I'm going to have to read the knife forum more often. This is great news, hope it passes. I brought this up when Jamie Woodson was Senator, never heard back. -

Based on their experience as politicians they don't think Magpul will do it. -

When standing your ground, how far should you go?
bronco302 replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You might do some searching here, there was a case a couple of years ago in Tennessee where a victim followed to get info after being robbed. He was fired on and shot the robber. I don't remember enough to look it up for you, but someone will. Joe W. -
