I actually saw this coming. I was in a Gun shop outside of Smyrna, GA that my cousin took me to that still had new OD Glocks. I was talking to the guy who said he was expecting a new release of "colored frames to hit any time now" Being that he was trying to sell new OD's for $549 I didn't see anything he had to gain from lieing to me.

Oddly enough one of my friends is dealing with the same roof leak problem with her Jk.

The biggest problem I have with people open carrying is those that are too weak or untrained with weapon retention not to mention no retention holsters. I was talking about this with a fellow LEO who said the day before he was at Walmart and there was a 90 year old man who couldn't hardly walk OC a huge SA revolver in a flimsy holster. I have seen plenty of trained law enforcement nearly get there weapon taken away just for the sake of embarassement.

As far as pocket carry I believe the weight will turn me off more than the size. I pocket carried a G26/27 for a long time comfortably. The XDS is thinner but a hair taller than a G26/27.

I just shot my Gen 4 G23 today for the first time. I can tell a huge difference with the new RSA compared to a Gen3. It's odd that I didn't notice it as much with a Gen4 G19. I have successfully put 1000+ rounds through Gen4's without troubles.
-
Other reports I have seen didn't list the price that much. They were pretty close to the black models.
-
Well, I have to ask. Where is Norma today?

You can't go wrong with a LCR. If I had to have just one gun the LCR might be it. I like the nostalgia of my j frame Smith's but the wife's LCR is truly a better firearm.

When your talking 9 and 40' s I tend to favor the Glocks. Nothing wrong with the M&Ps, some like the Glock trigger better and some like the M&P's better. The M&Pc is more between a Glock 26 and 19, which makes it a little less carriable in a pocket or ankle, but no great advantage IWB/OWB.
-
^ What he said plus it must be in a holster by law. There has been some conflict on wheter or not it was legal to carry in churches or other places of worship, but I believe the last word is that it is fine.
-
Wow that thing is huge for a ankle. I couldn't believe you pulled off a Glock 30 on the ankle. I think Galco makes one for a compact XD which is the same size except for the grip.

^a officers ignorance of the law is how many of them get relieved or in civil trouble. I see it as a citizens right to notify or not of there HCP and legal carry of a firearm. I just find it as curtousy to notify me and I may in return find there infraction a random incident. I treat everyone as if they have a weapon on them so I m not really treating HCP holders any different.
-
As of today I have never written a ticket to someone who made mention of there HCP.
-
Your right. I actually thought I edited that after I posted but this Forum format is terrible. NCIC is almost used as police jargin for running anything.
-
I may not have been clear in my other post. When a dispatcher gets a tag and runs it on NCIC it comes up on a screen that gives the RO's name, address, date registered, expired and general vehicle info. When I run a plate on Tennessee's DOS website I get a picture of the RO, DL info, HCP info, address, their signatures over the years, their photos since 1995, and a few other things. I often run them both ways. I would say 9.5 out of 10 HCP holders(that are drivers/RO's) I know about on a traffic stop. I would just assume they not tell me they have a HCP as I treat every vehicle as if it may have a weapon in it anyway. It's not the HCP holders I worry about anyway.
-
Your right as far as NCIC which is what most dispatchers run the Tag through but I often use TN Crime Portal which is the TN DOS website. It shows your DL photo and all info when I enter a tag. I do this because it shows if the R O is suspended or revoked. I often do both NCIC and the DOS with the DL. If systems are working, which is about 95% of the time now, I always find out if they have HCP.

Well, when you say SE TN are you talking all the way to Chattanooga? There are several In Chattanooga. GT Dist has some of the best deals you will ever come across. Used 3rd Gen Glocks start at $339. I almost bought a mint SW 6906 for $379 the other day. There in GA so they transfer to a Pawn shop up the road for $35 but you pay cheaper GA tax

Repost? Ft Campbell SF soldier shoots fellow soldier and police
Patton replied to Patton's topic in General Chat
The victim and shooter were both SF operators in the same unit. Here is what I'm hearing: Both soldiers were roommates or neighbors. Benjamin Schweitzer shoots Moses Moses walks to a neighbors home and the neighbor calls Police for a attempted burglary. Police find Moses and follow the blood trail to the scene of the crime. Unknowingly the four officers go into the house only to get pinned down with gunfire upstairs. One of the officers takes a 45 round to the upper arm but is doing fine. Officers that responded use CS Gas to get Schweitzer out of the house. -
I have made notice of that before as well. It's vodoo how the XD9's hold so many compared to the Glock and vise-versa for the 40's.
-
If I remember correctly a Bonds Arm derring weighs about the same as a Glock 26.
-
Well, there a cool toy. I don't feel comfortable with only 2 rounds for defense before I would need to reload. You are so much better armed with just about everything else out there. Those derringers weigh about the same as a 357 Snubby that have 2.5 X the capacity. They are well built and reputable. The recoil is hard but doable.

(Cleveland) Bradley Square Mall CCP
Patton replied to GlockSpock's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Yes, if your going to conceal go ahead. -
Pipe cutter is the preferred method. I have never understood the need for a barrel less than 18" for an extra $200. I have thought about a Serbu Shotgun which only needs a AOW $5 tax stamp. Just cut it at 19-20" as you you will never know the difference. Unless its used as a breaching gun, the pistol grip is about the most untactical setup one could want.

Oh, and one more thing. Reliably boring!
