  1. One thing I just read over on the Florida forum. If the governor declares a state of emergency due to rioting I will not be allowed to carry in public even with my CWFL. I really hope things don't get out of hand. 870.043 Declaration of emergency.—Whenever the sheriff or designated city official determines that there has been an act of violence or a flagrant and substantial defiance of, or resistance to, a lawful exercise of public authority and that, on account thereof, there is reason to believe that there exists a clear and present danger of a riot or other general public disorder, widespread disobedience of the law, and substantial injury to persons or to property, all of which constitute an imminent threat to public peace or order and to the general welfare of the jurisdiction affected or a part or parts thereof, he or she may declare that a state of emergency exists within that jurisdiction or any part or parts thereof. History.—s. 3, ch. 70-990; s. 1400, ch. 97-102. 870.044 Automatic emergency measures.—Whenever the public official declares that a state of emergency exists, pursuant to s. 870.043, the following acts shall be prohibited during the period of said emergency throughout the jurisdiction: (1) The sale of, or offer to sell, with or without consideration, any ammunition or gun or other firearm of any size or description. (2) The intentional display, after the emergency is declared, by or in any store or shop of any ammunition or gun or other firearm of any size or description. (3) The intentional possession in a public place of a firearm by any person, except a duly authorized law enforcement official or person in military service acting in the official performance of her or his duty. Nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed to authorize the seizure, taking, or confiscation of firearms that are lawfully possessed, unless a person is engaged in a criminal act.
  2. I have no problem with it.
  3. I finally found a Sport today at Personal Defense off of Watt Rd in Farragut. I didn't get the amazing deal I was hoping for but I am confident the Sport will do everything I need it to at a price that doesn't break the bank.
  4. Those signs hold no weight here in Florida. Ironically the only place I've seen the gunbuster sign is at the local guns stores here in town. I always ignore the sign. When I'm visiting TN I will not enter places that are posted.
  5. TNMike is a member here. He's had to defend himself while living in Memphis. It can happen anywhere though. All big cities have their problems. I'm just saying Memphis makes the top 5 every year but you guys get so defensive about it. I live in Orlando and I accept the fact that it's a big tourist dump with a lot of crime. http://www.defensivecarry.com/forum/concealed-carry-issues-discussions/66540-i-had-draw-someone-today.html
  6. My first vehicle was a 91 4Runner. It a complete POS but I loved it. I love the new"ish" models but the consumer reports are not very positive. It was not on their recommended list.
  7. Memphis may not be "that bad" you locals sure do try to downplay it. I really don't put much faith in these lists though. I was reading a separate article the other day an the list was different.
  8. I was excited to get one until I heard how crappy the trigger is. A few people reported a 13 pound pull for the .22 model. I'll stick with my .38 LCR
  9. I shipped an old Gen 2 G19 back to Glock for upgrade and both UPS and Fedex require overnight shipping for handguns. It was going to cost me at least $75. I contacted a local pawn shop/FFL and they did it for $45. That is your best bet.
  10. I like going there if I need a good laugh. Their prices make me laugh out loud.
  11. I scored a 2nd Gen 19 a few months ago. It was made in 1988. The same year I was born. 2nd Gen for the win!!
  12. He recently retired. I have enjoyed some of his videos but I think the popularity went to his head a while back.
  13. whoops. I'll try to lock this one.
  14. Another reason to always be armed while hiking. As always, be sure to check out comments. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2012/jun/09/attack-in-great-smoky-mountains-national-park/
  15. This has nothing to do with OC. End thread.
  16. Very sad to hear this. RIP Paul. I enjoyed his videos.
  17. Open carry is a bigger deal to the people on this forum than it is to the general public.
  18. I have no idea how the fishing is but I'm sure the Big South Fork(River) has fish in it. I go for the trails and the fact that no one is there. You may want to check out the Gentleman's Swimming Hole trail located in the town of Rugby.
  19. It would be a long drive for you but Big South Fork is my favorite.
  20. I don't have the History channel. I hope it shows up online somewhere.
  21. In TN I openly carried on occasion. Now that I live in a state where open carry is not legal it really makes me appreciate the freedom that I had in TN. I wouldn't OC here in Orlando but there are certain times when I wish I could OC in Florida without being punished.
  22. I agree, however it happened in Oregon so I was almost expecting it.
  23. I like this. I love hot stuff but it has to have flavor too.
  24. CZ's in .40S&W are known to have problems. My 40P still will not eat hollow points and took a lot of work just to feed FMJ.
  25. Why is Paul better than Romney? That should be pretty clear. Here is a snapshot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWjWjOk3KCk&feature=related
