  1. I'm looking for, and want to buy, a Colt SAA 3rd Gen Hammer. The one I'm looking for will have polished sides.
  2. Regarding 911 on your cell phone… I can verify that it does not work just anywhere - as another poster indicated, you must have a cell signal.
  3. Sounds like what you need is a satellite phone. It has been several years since I used one but basically you need to keep it charged, and it works from most anywhere to most anywhere… Far away places to Middle Tennessee was once no problem. If I remember correctly, the phone was costly, about 1k, and the charges were about $1 per minute…but it worked, always. Likely the prices have come down significantly. It shouldn’t be much trouble to research if you have the need for such communications.
  4. R to L - as They show up upside down… Safariland Colt C, left handed, I believe for 1911s Unknown maker, fits Ruger Bearcat Bianchi #5 BHL, like new, for S&W Kit Gun M34 with 4” barrel $8.00 each or $20 for all three, pick up between Lebanon and Smyrna
  5. Has she tried a J frame S&W?
  6. I've recently seen some discussion on how to determine the year of manufacture of Marlin lever guns.   I'd recommend you carefully read all the options when you check here:   http://oldguns.net/sn_php/marlinlookup.php   Quick & simple - just make sure you input into the correct date range.   Hope this is beneficial to someone.
  7. Both Marln and Winchester have made several models throughout the years. After serious consideration and research, many people opt for the older models, for example pre 1982 for the Marlins (when the cross bolt safety was introduced).  Browning also makes a nice 22 lever gun with the shortest throw (lever travel) in the business.  Vintage guns command prices that are on par with and often exceed that of new models.  Many prefer pre Japanese Winchesters and pre Remington Marlins; I opt for the Marlin 39 series in its many configurations.  I don't have any experience with the Henry, but it is a popular option.
  8. No problems finding 30-30 ammo here in Middle TN. I'm one of the guys with one for sale (on this site), but not my only 30-30.  I'll likely have one around as long as I have firearms.  Sidewinder indicated he hadn't seen any for $1,200 or more - but there are plenty of them out there.  Of course, most everyone reading this understands that 30-30 is a caliber, there are several desirable $1,200 and up platforms that fire this venerable cartridge.
  9. It would be hard to go wrong with Nikon or Leupold.  I'm a firm beliver in the adage to buy all the scope you can afford... It is not unusual for the optics to cost more than the firearm. Good luck & good shooting with whatever you choose.
  10. Guys,   It does seem that ARs and many new (modern) arms pricing may be deflating just a little.  Older, collectible type pieces appear to continually increase.
