  1. The 686 is an L frame.
  2. Me and my 3 Sigs welcome you to the family.
  3. Add me to the restaurant law since I do not drink anyway (yea, yea, I'm no fun) and the parks law second.
  4. My brother is looking at one of these. I will have to direct him to this thread. So are you guys going to carry your LCP in an Uncle Mike's type pocket holster or just drop it in your pocket?
  5. I am glad that she got to meet an entire family that would have been murdered if the husband had not used a firearm in self defense. I hope that now when she hears the sound of a firearm, she does not just associate it with the death of her friend but also with the saving of lives.
  6. I second all the votes and opinions for a 642. Blue or stainless does not matter since it is in your pocket. Get a decent holster to help keep the gun in a drawable position.
  7. Whenever I am at Hero-Gear, I always mosey over to the special display case where those beauties are and admire them. (note to self - next time bring glass cutter /jk). Joe is that an Ashley Big Dot on the model 60? How do you like it?
  8. He kind of looks like the Colonel Sanders of guns. I mean that as a compliment.
  9. We go there almost every year. Never could find any place to shoot. Love to eat at King Neptunes, Sunplace Else and the Crab Shack. Once when checking in at Brett-Robinson, I accidentially showed the clerk my carry permit instead of my DL for ID. He was very cool about it and just reminded me not to leave my weapon behind after checking out.
  10. I have a TC Seneca with the .45 and .36 barrels. I enjoy its size. My brother is very much into traditional MLs.
  11. Tungsten - I am in the same boat as you except I want a P99 9mm.
  12. Prayers sent for him, his wife and you guys.
  13. Welcome from the top of the rock.
  14. +1 on the 642. In my younger days, I used to think that the bodyguard was the ugliest revolver out there. I have come to see the beauty that lies underneath.
  15. Mine was made in 1976. It came with the Ruger fake ivory (which look pretty good) but I bought some spalted maple grips for it. I would post a pic but I don't think I have enough posts yet.
  16. Congratulations You will really enjoy it. I have one too and also would like to have one in .357. Stainless this time I think. In looking at the pic I did not notice the billboard usually printed on the side. In case you were wondering how old your blackhawk is you can go to Ruger's website and date it.
  17. Congrats. My friend has owned one for years and loves it.
  18. All of you better come on down or us local guys will buy too many and get in trouble with our wives. "Yes honey, I know you just bought me this P7 for Christmas at Hero-Gear, but this is a big sale and I only have twentyish guns" "All the other guys have more"
  19. I enjoy Gun Tests. It has reviews of a varied assortment of firearms. Of course, like everything else, take it with a grain of salt. Their experiences may not be yours, but they understand that too.
  20. razorback2003 I read where she was a former Minneapolis police officer.
  21. They look great. When I finally get around to getting a 1911, the Ed Brown is on my short list. I am leaning toward the bobtail.
  22. A S&W 686 with a 3 inch barrel and at some point a quality 1911.
