Small claims court is where you need to take it and you can get her to pay court costs in your suit you are totally in the right. Unless you are trying to hide something from the authorities and don't want the spotlight on it I would make her give it back and pay for my trouble to do so . Also I had a similar situation years ago. Call the cops have them meet you at her house . Tell them that you and her broke up and you need to get your stuff out of her house. but are afraid there might be trouble . If she admits in front of the officer that she is holding your stuff then he will force her to give it back . but if she denies that she has anything of yours in front of them you are stuck , and will be forced to take her to court to retrieve it . In my situation the Officer said that possession was 9/10ths of the law so unless I had documentation of all my items proving ownership and she denies having it then there was nothing they could do . Id just go the small claims route and have the court force her to return all your belongings plus pay your filing costs . Sounds to me she is just being petty and childish . And needs a dose of grown-up reality.

As far as racking the slide have her grip and hold the slide and push the frame of the gun with her other hand instead of pulling the slide back .It helped my sis who is not very strong . Sweet gun let us know how it shoots

Don't do it unless you got your money lined up for the purchase. You will be smitten you will be going to sleep dreaming about it . longing for it almost willing to sell off what you have to buy it . I've shot two different brands a RIA and a Springer loaded target .Both left me with lustful thoughts. The Dance with the springer was like a one night stand with Angelina Jolie . I'm in love !! All joking aside the 1911 has as others described a strong push but not near as snappy as say Glock or XD in .40 cal. I'd even go as far to say that the recoil seemed more manageable in the full size 1911 in .45 cal than the recoil on my service model XD in 9mm .

I also have the PT709 its "ok" for what its for. It goes bang every time I pull the trigger but it is not comfortable to shoot for me. The trigger guard digs into my middle finger .I have decided to keep it for now, but it may go away if I find a suitable replacement .

Hornady makes a good round its a 2 3/4" round for fully rifled barrels only .This is the round I used in my slug gun 2" sub groups at 100yds is what the website says. I only shot them twice at paper at 3 bucks every time you pull the trigger its a lil' expensive but it was dead on.I never got the opportunity to put meat on the table with it yet though. 300 gr saboted bullet with 1641 fps /1793 ft lbs @ 100 yds . hard on the shoulder too . Hornady Manufacturing Company :: Ammunition :: Shotgun :: SST® Slugs :: 12 ga Slug 300 gr FTX® These are for those that dont like to track their game Dead right there ammo as I call it . http://www.lightfieldslugs.com/Lightfield/Products/Detail/?c=91&p=342

I'll try that when I get back to the range Thanks for the info Peace XXL I may just do that GTV if what peace said doesn't work.I just didn't want to have to go through the hassle if I could avoid it let alone doing without my gun for several weeks. If I can get it to shoot where I put the sights I might end up loving this gun.

Here we go here is kinda of a range report .I put an additional 200 rds through it this past weekend not one hiccup as far as operation is concerned it was flawless. However I have some complaints 1) the trigger safety does not work .It fires without the bar depressed on the trigger 2)I am grouping consistently but it is low about 2"and left about 2-3"" off center there is no more adjustment in the sights .This particular gun is seems not to be capable of a bullseye shot with these sights(I know the tendency to pull in that direction but I am almost convinced its the gun at this point ) .I consistently put the rounds in the "kill zone" suitable enough for self defense but you have to remember to aim a little high and right to get bullseye shots.I will put the gun in some others hands to verify its not shooter error before I fully determine the gun to be at fault 2) there seems to be a little too much slop in the slide where it rides on the frame .It will "wiggle" about a 1/64 of an inch to the left side a little more to the right side with the chamber closed (Am I spoiled on my XD?) In my opinion there should be no noticeable movement in these areas. On a one to five scale I give it an over all score of a 3. It conceals easily ,and functions reliably. But it by far is not my favorite .

Here lately Ive been going about twice a month I shoot about 100 rounds in my MKIII then another 50-100 in my XD .I don't have the option of carrying my guns with me on the job so my dry fire practice is slim to none I find shooting with my.22 first helps with my control plus bad shots don't feel like as big of a waste of money . My accuracy has come along great using this method for practice .

When I get my HCP after Christmas(need extra funds) I will be carrying my PT709 in a Desantis Nemisis in my right front pocket .It fits perfectly and does not print badly you can tell something is in my jeans but cant make out a distinguishable shape. I'm sure in my looser fitting dress slacks it will not print at all.

you tube it .it makes the dis-assembly re-assembly a lot easier...............Also remember to hold your mouth right or that mainspring housing will never go back in .

Thanks for the info on the pinky extention. The .PT380 is the size of kel-techs .32. Almost two small

Bought me a PT 709 today . I think this will be more comfortable to carry than My XD . Put about 20 rounds through it today and It did ok I need to put about another 100 rds through it for me to feel comfortable for self defense im still pulling down and left getting used to the short grip . But over all i seem to be happy with it .I bought it used and the fellow i purchased it from put only about 120 rds through it so it still feels an looks as good as NIB

You might also consider a revolver chambered for .327 you can shoot the lower powered .32 cal cartridges to get her used to the gun .I used to own an old H&R .32 revolver and the recoil was not significantly more than a .22lr-.25acp with .32 longs it would be a sight better defensive pistol than a .22lr

I appreciate the replies plenty of food for thought.

Ok i think ya'll are missing the point im trying to convey .I understand all the legality involved in owning a MG what I'm asking is can you buy a registerable M16 reciever that is damaged not firing and restore it ? Or are you SOL if the sear is FUBAR or any other of the crucial parts that allow select fire damaged to the point of replacement as your only option . Can you buy new parts to repair the weapon or does the rifle become a conversation piece or parts in a bin If the crucial parts are worn out /broken .IE: auto sear ,key parts in the trigger group,or the bolt carrier. I am not talking about conversion Sorry if i was not clear

rewording for my ignorance could I buy and register a select fire lower from say a damaged or what have you complete gun or even a perfectly fine lower just not the complete gun then rebuild/build it i guess is what im saying .

^^^^^^^^^^^^What he said^^^^^^^^^^^^

Me and a friend were having a discussion yesterday and we were just wondering Is it possible to buy a select fire upper on a M-16/AR variant and then assemble the rest. I would understand that the upper would be an NFA item but assuming that you can assemble the rest. the last M-16 I saw went for 15g's .I am just looking for a more cost effective means to acquire a really fun toy.

Consent to carry in other's homes?
Mad_Squirrell replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Will Carry.two men(or women) carrying in the presence of one another usually insures polite conversation. I've had a few repairmen have a gun on their person or in their toolbox . Never once has any of them ever pulled it out or "brandished " it . I ask you to reconsider your mode of thinking because when you walk into any establishment do you not hope to presume that they will not deny you your rights. You are denying him or her theirs . After all it is you who called them to perform a service for you . You do have the right to be that way if you chose .Just asking you to walk a mile in another mans shoes . It is illogical to believe that a HCP holder would be anymore likley to harm you in your home than they would in public. Also you might be asking for a funeral. Wouldn't you standing there with a gun in your hand pointed at him in a threating manor also give him the right to defend himself . Look at it from his(repairman's point of view) would you go to work in an environment where everyone else has the possibility of being armed but you. I unfortunately do not have the option unless i choose to seek another line of work .Firearms are forbidden by my company on company property or in company vehicles. I drive truck for a living so guess where that leaves me . -
No I don't carry one at home and I do not have a HCP yet .....But there is always a gun close at hand in the house .

Like all have said before Bersa makes a great gun. I have fired the thunder.380 and the .45 and like them both. My sister has the thunder .380 and is about the same size as your wife and she struggles racking the slide . . A Kel-tec is more concealable and in the same price range .If you are willing to spend more money you might also consider a Kahr .

Squirrell's advice cause you asked in a public forum: 1)Do the traffic school .It will save you a bunch over time in insurance premiums 2)Don't speed anymore. If you had just passed the lady on the right at the speed limit. (i know she shouldn't have been there) you would have gone past her in mere seconds and you still would have lost no time (you lost a bunch after getting pulled over as the blue hair sailed past you at 65mph) Just to put things into perspective as to how much time is saved by speeding . @ 60 mph you can expect to cover 1 mile per minute . For every 10mph over that you are only saving 10 seconds per mile for you to have passed her at the speed limit you would have been around her in approximately 5 seconds had you stayed behind her for a mile or two it would have just cost you 5 or 10 seconds in your commute . How much time did the traffic stop cost you? I drive for a living .I put about 125,000 miles on this Peter Built in a year .And knock on wood a little over 1 million accident/ticket free miles .In my experience the ones that end up in accidents are the ones who drive excessively faster than the flow of traffic . Don't make a habit of it. It really does not pay. My two biggest pet peeves are drivers that refuse to obey posted speed limits .And the ones that think traffic on the interstate must yield to them that are getting on the interstate.

O/U Shotgun Inertial or Mechanical Trigger Selector
Mad_Squirrell replied to Tri-Cities Bob's topic in Long Guns
You are partially correct Greg and I was partially wrong. After doing some research Most if not all of today's Double barreled guns are manufactured with either a selector or two triggers . But in years past there were some especially in the SxS format that had a single trigger but no selector and in my limited experience with DB shotguns I assumed that having a single trigger and no selector was still a choice available on more modern guns . My primary experience is with my grandfathers older SxS that only had one trigger and no selector. Not sure of the make and since the gun is no longer in my fathers possession it will be difficult to get that information for you. The Franchi Grand Prix 90 is an O/U that had a single trigger and no selector. production ceased in 2000 and was replaced by the sporting model that does. The Franchi Highlander (SxS)also has no selector and a single trigger.
