  2. I wish congress would pass this law taken straight from Kennesaw ,Ga 's law Sec. 34-21. - Heads of households to maintain firearms. (a) In order to provide for the emergency management of the city, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefore. ( Exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who suffer a physical or mental disability which would prohibit them from using such a firearm. Further exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who are paupers or who conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine, or persons convicted of a felony.
  3. He is the right man for the job at the right time . He's not a career politician, but has had a successful career and knows how to get things done . I know he's pro 2nd amendment ,pro fair tax ,and pro limited government . Those are the three biggest issues for me. out of all the names tossed around hes the best person for the job .
  4. I had one and it shot good ,shoots low only real complaint ,zero malfunctions with 300+rds sold it because it didn't fit my needs .I really wanted something for pocket carry so I ended up buying the PT738 the 709s baby brother .
  5. Sportsman's Warehouse gives 10% off to military, police, firefighters, & ems (found that out when dad asked if they had a senior discount lol they said no .)
  6. sent my emails last week
  7. H.R. 514 the re-authorization of the patriot act comes up for vote today . "To extend expiring provisions of the USA PATRIOT Improvement and Reauthorization Act of 2005 and Intelligence Reform of Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004." Reauthorization of the mis-named Patriot Act gives government jackboots more and more tools in their war on gun owners and gun rights activists, some govt factions smear as “Radical Extremists†and even “Domestic Terrorists.†Some of the very worst provisions of the Patriot Act include: Roving, warrantless wiretaps of virtually EVERY form of electronic communication used by U.S. citizens. Secret federal searches without warrants OR knowledge of the resident. Blanket warrants for the search and seizure of all library records, without naming individual suspects or providing probable cause. Judicial warrants replaced with “National Security Letters†signed by unaccountable Obama Administration bureaucrats and gag orders for those served with these letters which make it illegal to tell anyone about it -- including your spouse and your priest! Drastic expansion of the definition of “domestic terrorism,†which is sure to include gun owners. Expands asset seizure to permit the taking of assets from anyone “suspected†of terrorism, even if that person is NEVER charged or sent to trial. Lone wolf provisions which allow the government to spy on ANYONE even if they’re not associated with a terrorist organization or foreign national, without due process or notification. Even a gesture as simple as placing a pro-gun bumper sticker on your car or supporting a pro-gun candidate makes you a potential “domestic terrorist†in the eyes of some of the people currently running our government. 8. I tend to agree with Leroy .I bet there are some back door dealings going on. There was no bid on the contract because of the trade in sounds like a scheme for a politician and a buddy to make a little money on the side while Kimber gets the bad rap. With that large of a contract you'd think that they(Kimber) would work out any issues if needed. If it is on the up and up I bet they are still using Kimber factory mags and they have not put near the round count down the pipe to break in all the guns . While I have never owned a Kimber I have heard that they need a 500 rd break in period and sometimes require adjustment .
  9. Ill have to remember that one like i said just browsin you tube stuff and thought i outta share

  11. the maverick and the pardner pump can both be had for under $200 . Academy had the pardner not to long ago for $169
  12. does that red dot have an adjustable MOA dot for that price id jump on it for my Ruger as well . I also want to add one of these $80 from Volquartzen
  13. Checked into it last year and all of that including, you have to live in a zone that permits it, and making sure you have a safe adequate for storage of all firearms when business is closed . You will be inspected by the BATFE and you have to do two interviews with them as well one by phone the other in person .The reason for the regular hours of operation is so you can be contacted .You can only be open one day a week 2 hours a day if you want but you have to observe those hours . And heck yeah on the 15 dollar FFL transfer .But I can understand the reason for the high fees .Especially on a gun that a dealer regularly stocks.
  14. It seems to be biting right at the rim ill take a pic next time I'm at the range with it . That might be why the darn thing bings me in the head with brass LOL.
  15. 1 More vote for the MKIII mine had a pin work out on me the other day so I got to put the entire thing back together on the range fun fun .I don't think Satan designed it but someone who sold their soul for an engineering degree did .
  16. some others you may consider are the Springfield XD/XDM and the S&W M&P both are in your price range as well . But from your choices I'd go with the Glock.
  17. I shot one a few months ago and loved it . The Buckmark had a better trigger than my Ruger out of the box. I don't know about field stripping the Buckmark but it cant be worse than the Ruger . Mine just gets a blast of CLP breakfree and I clean the barrel .
  18. Well she hated the TCP ,she said it was too painful for her so she will not be able to shoot it enough to get proficient with it .So it's all mine again lol I get to keep it, but we have to start looking for a wheel gun . No arguments there . Mine seems to be biting the brass as well I noticed it on a few spent cases yesterday . I sold my 709 to get funds for the TCP I had originally bought the 709 for deep concealment but it proved to be just a tad too big for that. Even though I'm a big guy it was just too bulky for pocket carry .But did fit nicley in my pocket with the Desantis holster. but still printed too much .
  19. I really hope she likes shooting it as much as she like holding it because I really want her to get her HCP if not she will be getting a snubby .38 spl .If so I'll be getting another pocket gun for myself. I see it as a win win situation no matter what the outcome because I still get permission from the boss to buy another gun .
  20. Well I took it on loan yesterday from her lol she still has claim on it . And I'm taking her today to let her try it out if she feels better otherwise she would have gone yesterday as well . And yeah I was there. There was about 15-20 people there around 4:30pm the rifle ranges were packed and three of the pistol ranges were filled up . Ranges 4 and 5 were vacant when we (Dad and I) arrived . Its amazing what nice weather does .
  21. I bought a used Taurus TCP .380 from dralarms (good experience btw) . Took it to the range yesterday and put 100 flawless rds through it .I was using magtech .380 95 gr FMJ Shooting at 7-10 yds it grouped a consistent 2"-3". the Trigger is long like most DAO but was very smooth . The fixed sights make the little pistol shoot low but compensating for that was not difficult to get it on target. It is a painful little booger to shoot after about 20 rds . But its not a range gun obviously . The only complaint with the gun that I have is the empty cases like to hit you on the top of the head . But that might be partially because of the amount of recoil that little thing has ,it's very snappy. Recovering and getting back on target quickly was not an issue . Overall I'm Pleased so far with its performance great little pocket gun .I will be getting some defensive ammo soon for it to be used for carry when I get my HCP. I have read some disparaging reports on the TCP just like all Taurus autos they seem to be hit and miss on quality. This one seems to be a good production run. The serial number ends in an "A" for those that are interested. From what I've read that's the run you want for reliability.
  22. acadamy has a rossi .38spl 3" barrel on sale now for $229
  23. Mad_Squirrell

    DB 380?

If they worked the bugs out I may consider one in the future I loved how it felt when I held one . The trigger felt good too. I'd like to know what serial #'s are on the new and improved versions. Since I brought home my TCP the wife put claim on it . I haven't even got to shoot it yet.
  24. We are going to start seeing higher transfer fees on guns A buddy of mine that owns a shop says places like buds are putting him and other small shops out of business and they are starting to charge more for the transfer fee because they cant compete on final price once sales tax is figured into the mix . He charges $50 bucks for most transfers and $75 for some others . I don't remember his criteria for the different rates . I.E. take a 1000 dollar gun ordered from Buds and a shop sells the gun for the same price . assuming free shipping and paying with a check to keep figures simple. buds= $1000 for gun . + 25 dollars for FFL transfer +10 background check = 1035 local shop= $1000 for gun . +9% state and local sales tax + background check = 1100 for all the same work . I like the prices buds has but because of taxes our local guys are forced to cut their profits to compete or charge more for transfers to recoup some of the loss . for all the same work the only benefit to them in the transaction is they have no capitol tied up in inventory . i can see their complaint . Support local business or big box stores like Academy ,Sportsman's whse ,Bass pro etc. will eventually be all we have to choose from.
  25. Ive read everyone's replies and the only in between gun that I see that meets all your requirements except price is an XD it is a single action, trigger is lighter than the Glock but the gun is just as reliable . The grip angle is the same as the 1911 , The XD I owned was more accurate than me. I have no experience with HK ,SIG, Or CZ so I cannot vouch for them on durability/reliability But I have friends that prefer them over their 1911's and their Glocks. and they shoot them with very good accuracy . Your Glock is just as accurate as a 1911 in the right hands . Part of the accuracy portion of a 1911 is the over all length of the gun.The shorter the gun gets the harder it becomes to shoot more accurately. Range time is the only way to get proficient with any gun . I say spend the $400 on ammo and practice with your Glock after you put around a thousand rounds through that gun in a relatively short amount of time I bet your accuracy will approve significantly . Unless you just want an excuse to buy another gun
