  1. I had one several years ago briefly bought it to help a friend out that was hard up on cash. Took it to the range to try it out and my brother had cash money in hand so it left with him .Wish I'd never sold it .
  2. I think I'd prefer the inertia trigger over the mechanical selector seems there is no real advantage one over the other unless you are shooting two different chokes and want the ability to choose which barrel to fire from to take better advantage of a different choke for the given situation.
  3. Thanks Kegger for posting this reminder for all of us . Im just glad you were not posting before and after GSW picks .
  4. I just thought you made a typo then i saw Oh shoots reply and decided to erase the post since I was the one that assumed incorrectly. you know what they say assuming makes an ASS out of U and ME!

    Glock Vs 1911

Ok so let me get this straight GT sells"NIB" guns only to LEO ,military but they will sell used to civilians. but not any new firearms. Am I right or did I miss something here?
  6. He is impressive but i want to be this guy when I grow up !!
  7. My first apartment was in the highland park area one block from Main and Holtzclaw It was fairly common to hear gunfire and some occasional full auto fire .That area has been gang territory for many years.
  8. The over priced problem you see at a lot of pawn shops on used guns is that pawn shops usually loan money on half the value they estimate they can resell for. If they over estimate the price or the gun in question becomes available at a lower price new then the gun becomes over priced on their shelf . I.E. super wombat .45 loaded speed racer extreme lists for $2500 new you bring it in to pawn and it's in mint condition so the pawn broker thinks to himself I can get $2200 for it and gives you $1100 for it on pawn .Well time rocks on and you don't get it out of hock .Well during this time super wombat comes out with the loaded speed racer extreme II before the blue books have had a chance to adjust . and it lists for $2500 which drives the price down of the original to say $2000 so now the pawn shop has a used pistol on his shelf that he is trying to sell for more than you can get one new somewhere else . Most pawn shops that deal heavily with guns are usually cognizant of this and should adjust their prices accordingly to stay competitive but sadly a lot of them do not put that kind of time in to keeping their guns correctly priced in the ballpark . Which brings another problem with Pawn shops in general they use the list price to determine the value which usually is off from market price . So I guess the moral of the story "buyer beware"
  9. Melvin I think is his name over at J&M is a great guy .That's where I saw the Shotgun. hes a lil pricey on ammo but seemed to always have it even during the ammo crunch.
  10. A lot of Pawn Shops are new gun dealers as well so don't count them out just because it says "pawn shop" on the door. I have found great deals on old guns at pawn shops in the past . I have seen deals in pawn shops such as an Italian O/U at a pawn shop in near mint condition I saw last spring was priced about 400 dollars less than its value in the book. Had my wife not gotten to my Tax refund before me it would be sitting in my case as we speak.
  11. I have the Ruger MKIII 22/45 and Its a great pistol . Having shot a buckmark recently I think the buckmark has a slightly better trigger out of the box .I am plenty satisfied enough with my Ruger . Its more accurate than I can ever hope to be . It will be getting optics put on it this fall. You cannot beat the accuracy and reliability for the money out of either .
  12. The lack of available ranges in the area is exactly why I joined a club here in Cleveland . I got tired of driving out to Benton to the range in the Cherokee national forest I want to say its on spring creek rd over off 411 on the north side of Benton, TN I had a couple of bad experiences there but over all it was pretty nice place to shoot. But a long way out and as much as I shoot the gas I have saved going back and forth has more than paid for my membership to the club.
  13. 100 yds at a clay pigeon with my Ruger MKIII while my brother spotted for me. Took about 10-15rds to get it .
  14. Bentons is a nice place with a great selection but don't think you aint paying for the atmosphere their prices are not all that great .Most of the staff is not very knowledgeable and the ones that are can be rude and impatient .They do have layaway though. Their sporting clays facility is top notch. They have great staff very courtious and nicely equipped. Im lazy and love having a golf cart to drive around from station to station. Havent been there in a couple of years.I dont really need another place to shoot skeet since I've joined a club. I may have to take a trip up to Farnsworth one rainy day Vonore is just about an hour drive for me .
  15. The most comfortable grip would have to be the Walther PK380 feels like putty in my hands it just naturally conforms to my hand perfectly.I haven't had the opportunity to hold the P99 but if it fits like the PK380 then I would be happy with it is well. would love to shoot both of these for final judgment . followed by the Springfield XD series and a single stack 1911 being almost a tie.
  16. Wouldn't using sabots designed for use in a .50 cal rifle (.45 cal bullet in the plastic jacket )if forced into a .45 cal rifle possibly cause this to happen? To be honest I don't know too many people who use lead any more let alone ball. If the sabot was forced, there wouldn't be a ring of lead shaved from the bullet . The plastic shroud would just compress and the hollow point would deform in the barrel with excessive force from the ram rod .
  17. thanks ill pass that right on along.
  18. Dad has one and he loves it and will be his carry gun when he finds a holster he likes .It had a FTE in the first mag no issues since .200+ rnds groups well .Its a lil thick for my hand but It is a good shooter. I wouldn't recommend it for a woman unless shes pretty strong,It has a pretty stout spring .
  19. Great review on the gun BTW . I had similar results with a friends RIA the trigger was crunchy at first but it has smoothed out real nice after about 100 rds shot it last weekend again .Im sold on one as soon as funds allow.
  20. < Clip < magazine Calm down he has not been edumacated yet
  21. I talked to a friend that owns a small shop and asked him what the hoops were as me and my brother are considering it .He advised the following . 1) You must have a store front and have regular posted hours. You can have a store in your garage but you need to check with local zoning laws to make sure you are in compliance with them prior to the application .may have to get your municipality give you a letter of approval. 2) you must have adequate secure storage (safe) 3)get the application mailed to you from the BATFE do not use the .pdf example as that will hold up your application time(its wrong) .your application fee is due at the time you submit the application. 4) two sets of finger prints and photos . The local sheriff has to sign off on your application. You will have to do an interview with the BATFE during the application time .And inspection of your store . Under federal law The BATFE has 60 days to to approve or deny your application. If you screw up on the application it will delay your approval . This is all I know and I know its hearsay but take it for what its worth. I was considering opening an online store minus the store front basically to support my gun lust but that is out . But if I can raise enough investment capital in the next couple of years it may become a Full time endeavor .
  22. The gun is capable you just have to be very stable and consistent next time I go to the range I'll try to video dad with his Beretta bobcat in .22lr it will make you sick what he can do with that pistol at 25 yds. because nobody will believe me if I told em .
  23. Don't forget one of these or you will be just fighting that thing all night. And you will never get it into the Ecto containment unit
  24. Why is it these Short lists always take a LONG time to acquire lol!!
