Best course of action when pulled over by LEO?
walton6467 replied to DocZombie's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
License? Its on the bumper. Oh registration? Here, hold my beer and my gun and I'll get it. -
I love mine, however like previous poster, it is picky on ammo. Walmart bulk box ammo will jam all the time. I've also had a problem that the damn replaceable front site keeps falling off the gun. S&W/Walther was very good about sending me an envelope full of front sites for the gun however. Otherwise it is much fun.

If it falls, I let it hit the ground. Thats why I carry a Glock, a ding won't make it any uglier. Knock on wood I've never dropped a handgun, but law of averages states I probably will. Thats why I don't carry a pretty $1000+ Kimber, I would be sick to death of a goober ding on one of those.

I regularly OC in my neighborhood. Primarily so my neighbors will know to call before they come by my house. Hehehehehe Around town and most def out of town I conceal. Just more comfy for me that way. No reason to attract attention sometimes.

I did some searching and found this place. Never used them, but the prices aren't bad. They even have Kydex in camo and PINK of all things. KnifeKits.com Designer Knife Kits - Knife Making Supplies - Sheath and Holster Making Supplies

Ok, I've got a Walther P22 and the front site keeps falling off the gun. At the recommendation of a local gun shop, I called Walther customer service, rather than buy new sites. After about a 10 minute wait on hold, I got someone on the phone and explained the problem to him. After I finished telling my tale, I get about 15 seconds of silence, then a deep sigh and the CSR says "let me see if we have any laying around". A few more minutes wait and he comes back on and says "I'll drop you a couple in the mail, whats your address". I'm grateful they are sending me the sites, but I'm not 100% I'm actually going to receive anything. It just wasn't very professional. Does anyone have any experience with the Walther customer service?

Errors in "The Walking Dead" television show. What did you notice?

Remember, NONE of these people are trained survivalists. And at the beginning of the show, no one is aware this is widespread. They all think the "authorities" are going to show up to restore order at any minute. None of these people wants to admit that society is GONE. -
My first handgun was a P-95. Will always have a spot in my heart for that model.

The Walton plantation is in between Claw Hammer and Indian Creek. That wasn't one of the options on the survey.

Yup. Other than ugly, I think my Glock was perfect outta the box.

I've actually owned three guns on this list, (shows what my budget allows). The SCCY broke after firing two mags of ammo. The Ruger was a great gun for a beginner hand gun owner. I traded it for my first Glock and got almost my full purchase price on the trade. My KelTec PF9 is a great carry piece, disappears under most any clothes, goes bang at the right time and will hit the target until it makes your hand numb. I Duracoated my PF9 and I"m convinced it will last for years now.

Don't want to be a Sheepdog. Don't have the inclination to be a wolf. I'm not gonna hurt anyone and the only one I want to protect is me and mine. Most of the sheep are on their own.

I've carried a PF-9 for months. I agree with other posters, its not a range gun, but its easy to hide in your clothing. Small lightweight, no external hammer or external safety switch. VERY long DAO trigger, never had a misfeed, pull the switch and it goes bang every time. I added the optional belt clip and can carry IWB without a holster and it completely disappears. The worst thing I can say about the PF-9 is the finish. I had so much trouble with the slide rusting from being against my skin, I had the slide duracoated. Best move I ever made.

Tenn. appeals court rules against person who left keys in car | theleafchronicle.com | The Leaf Chronicle+ NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee appeals court has ruled that a person can be held responsible for a car thief's crash if the keys were left in the vehicle. The Tennessee Court of Appeals ruled this week in a case involving a stolen car, a police chase and a wreck in Murfreesboro in May 2007. The Court of Appeals upheld a lower court's decision to dismiss a lawsuit against the city of Murfreesboro and its police department over a wreck that involved a fleeing stolen vehicle that crashed with a car carrying three people. But the higher court reversed a decision by the circuit court of Rutherford County and said the suit against a man who left the keys in the car before it was stolen should continue. The amount of damages sought by those hurt in the crash was not listed. The extent of their injuries also was not included in the appeals court ruling. Plaintiffs were Sandra Newman and her family, who were in the car hit by an unknown motorist who had stolen the vehicle. They claimed negligence against Rubye Jarrell, who had the car registered; her grandson Joseph D. Ash Jr., who had left keys in the car, and the unknown driver of the other car, listed as John Doe in the suit. The suit alleged negligence on the part of the Murfreesboro Police Department for pursuing the stolen car prior to the accident May 18, 2007. The appeals court said it did not matter whether the keys were left in the ignition or the front seat or on the dash board in plain view. Further, the judges said the car was stolen in what appeared to be a high crime area.

I carry a PF-9 every day. This gun has never failed to feed and everytime I've ever pulled the switch, it goes bang and isn't tough to hold on target with a little practice. On the downside, the Keltec bluing is crap, the slide rusted so badly, that I had the gun duracoated. Its got a pretty healthy kick, after a mag or two at the range my hand is numb. And lilke a previous poster said that DAO trigger feels a mile long. It does take some getting used to, but I do like the little gun for what it is and for what I invested.

Around Clarksville its all called "550 cord". As in will withstand 550 pounds of stress. None of it is actually labeled "parachute cord".

I just feel dirty and not in a good way.

While the pics aren't great, I wanted to post and show my "new" Kel Tec PF-9. I've carried this for many months and given the quality of the Kel Tec bluing, the slide had begun to rust and I was having to clean it every day. I sent the slide to my new TGO best bud Gunrunner32 and he Duracoated the slide for me. Flat Black. Its a great job. With the polymer body of the gun, the flat black slide makes it look really good. The finish is almost identical in appearance to a factory Glock finish. I'm very impressed. The pics aren't great, but you can see how the Duracoating evened out the uneven Kel Tec factory bluing. Notice in between the grooves on the slide in the first pic how the color is uneven, the Duracoat gives a much nicer look to the gun. Thanks to Gunrunner32 for a great job. The guy is a professional and a pleasure to deal with. I'll certainly take all my Duracoat work to him.

I don't know if this is the normal today, I was very uncomfortable!

As a Clarksville native, I have seen this before. Its sad. I wish there was a better way to police this. Our "skilled" military don't deserve the reputation these yahoos give them. -
To clarify, I'm not a LEO, just a citizen interested in what police work is about. And yes, as people have noted, its hilarious to the cops that people would VOLUNTEER for this treatment. For me, I suppose it was a macho thing. I've been pepper sprayed by accident before, now I've been tased. I will pass on being shot.

As part of the Clarksville Citizen's Police Academy, the CPD gives a presentation and a demonstration of non-lethal force. The center piece of this demo was the taser. Seven of us, four men, three women all took a standard five second "ride" from a police issue Taser X3. I have to say, it was an experience I hope to never repeat.
