  1. Any way that gaming rig can be direct wired to the router with Cat-5? Then watch the Mbps rate at different times of the day. That will tell you if it's traffic inside your own WiFi network or some interference on the WiFi channels (speed stays good on Cat-5), or if it's Comcast getting slammed and dropping your speed (speed drops, even on Cat-5). If it's the later, check your agreement with Comcast. If you're supposed to be getting more than you are, call them. Don't let them tell you the router/modem is bad. Make them send someone out to check the connections at their box. IME: WiFi + gaming = FAIL. Every microsecond counts. +1 on the memory not being the problem. 32-bit is capped at recognizing 3.5GB, and will only use 3GB. Now if you switched to Win7, you can load up as much as your motherboard can handle. That said, you know the network speed is dropping. No amount of RAM will overcome that.

Link please? As for welfare, that's kind of a nebulous term in this country. It encompasses stuff such as WIC, food stamps, free or reduced daycare, and free or reduced school lunches. Qualifying for those usually requires someone to be working or trying to work (at least in theory). Other welfare is stuff like HUD homes or Sec. 8 housing. I really don't know the working requirements on those. Then you have just plain old welfare kings/queens who don't produce anything but kids and collect checks. In theory, there is no program that provides this kind of "support". In reality, they just game an existing system meant to help people in the earlier categories. I've heard the number of around 5 million people tossed around, but I don't know if that's just the deadbeats, or if it includes the working poor who are getting assistance, but not a free ride. Either way, I suspect that number has increased over the past couple of years.
  3. I like the Camo Couch. It reminds me of LL Cool J in "Toys".
  4. In response to Server: Guns In Restaurants A Workplace Hazard - Nashville News Story - WSMV Nashville we should meet up at Jackson's to support the manager. How does this Friday evening sound, say 6:30? If not, then I suspect we'd have to push it to after Labor Day.
  5. And I thought I was the only one here with a Rohm. We should start a club. We can use the Rohms as clubs.
  6. Rohm RG-10. My dad bought it some 40 years ago and hadn't fired it since. I cleaned it up and took it to the range. The guy next to me asked me to stop using it after about the fourth shot through it because of all the lead it was spraying.
  7. That's jumping to conclusions. I know I never needed alcohol to make me drive like a jackass when I was 19. +1 to Mike.357
  8. The only reason he lived is because K.I.T.T. turned the car around (after hitting the Turbo Boost to fly) in midair so he hit the bridge with the rear, not the front. Lucky.
  9. It's the landlord's name on the box, right? Why not just call him and ask if he's expecting a package from whoever is on the return address? If he is, tell him they're inside and that he needs to update is address with whoever sent them. If not, open 'em up and have an early Christmas.
  10. Zombieland I just realized we need a zombie smilie.
  11. Great service, quality pieces, and fair prices left Nashville when Crescent closed its doors. Take a look at Smith's Furniture in Lebanon. It's a few blocks west of the square. I always had some good luck there. The Metro Furniture in West Nashville in the old Rhode's building (across White Bridge Rd from Sprintz) is worth a stop too. They have some really good pieces at good prices, but you'll sort through some cheap stuff to find it. I've been pleased with some of their wood furniture (tables, bookshelves) but less than impressed by their fabric items (couches, chairs). I thought their shop over near the airport was more of the later than the former. Smith's: Wilson County Chamber Of Commerce, Free Decorating, Free Delivery, Smith’s Furniture Galleria., Lebanon, TN
  12. I hope they fix their closing hours during the week so normal people can stop in and see their shop. I think the DMV stayed open later....
  13. You should have edited the tach too. A liitle orange line sitting around the 6500 rpm mark would have made it more convincing.
  14. I have a newer P-22 (3.5" model) with about 700 rds through it. Never had any problems with it using CCI Mini-Mags. And those are the two main problems with the P-22. You need a newer one where they fixed some of the bugs of the earlier design, and you usually have to feed it pricier ammo. It helps to do some more tweaking on your own even on the new ones. $6.75 for a 100 pack of mini-mags at the Wally World isn't going to break the bank, but it's still more than the 550 count Federal bulk pack for around $12. I also find the sites difficult to use. There's a lot of room between the rear dots to get the front dot centered. I'm ashamed to say that I can only get 8 out of 10 on average on a standard round splatter target at 50 ft, but I've seen 3" to 4" groupings at that distance from a much better shooter than me using my gun. So I know it's me and not the gun. If you don't mind feeding it higher priced ammo, and you're willing to accept some "character" in your gun, the P-22 is a fun one to shoot. It's also a great gun for introducing someone to the semi-auto world because it looks and functions like most large caliber semi-autos. I wouldn't make it my first choice for a target competition gun, but I do like it. As stated earlier, it's also easy to add a suppresor. The barrel is already threaded.
  15. Where exactly do you pronounce the space in that handle? I'm also on PC. monkeylizard (or m0nkeylizard on Steam, IIRC)
  16. According to the YouTube vid, the .600 Nitro has a muzzle force of about 3 1/2 tons. So which is better for EDC, the .600 or the gorilla?
  17. I CC in public, but have been known to OC on my own property. Especially over the past few months as I've had lots of people I don't know coming by the the house doing construction quotes and work. No funny looks. I've gotten into about 3 discussions with some of the contractors about guns. They all had their HCP too.
  18. I don't want to know what they say about any man's junk.
  19. I mean, with the .50 and the GBU-32 1,000 pound JDAM, what's the point?
  20. Point taken, but the comment wasn't about pumps in general, but about the entry-level pumps, like the Rem 870 or Mossy 500 lines. Either way, I don't think a pump is going to be the right choice for my use. Semi-Auto looks like a better choice since a good O/U is too far out of my budget. After shopping around a bit for prices on the Rem 1100 and Benelli 390/391, it seems like $500 is too low of a budget to get a sporting gun that I'll be happy with for a long time. That's no problem. I'll just have to wait a little longer to save a few more dollars. Thanks for the input everyone.
  21. Thanks guys. What about the Benelli Nova? Good choice for my described use?
