1.5 acres, my guess a pair of goats could keep that down all summer.   My uncle had depending on time of your, 10 to 25 goats on about 25 acres (hill side). When he first got the goats there was so much brush you had to fight your way though it. They cleaned it up and kept it clean for years.     With goats, don't get one, better have 2 as they get lonely and will cry if alone.

  They told me something about it being a 2 piece part, a housing and the actually thermostat.  Since there was no issue with my housing just the thermostat I was lucky.

After I got it back, didn't have to drive long and it was up to good normal temp, drove it round town for about 30 minutes went back to work, checked for leaks, didn't see any.  Feel good about the repair.

well you are right if you mean between 3 dollars and 400.   However 135 is the price I was given.  I find that a little high, but my ass won't be out in the cold weather doing it.  (I don't have a garage to work in yet)

I can do small job, but I looked at the top of the engine and well looks like a bit more has to come off to make room to get to it then I want to do.  I depend on my truck so I am going to pay to have this job done and done right.    Plus they will drop me off at work and pick, me up after.  So I won't miss any work, I won't be out in this blasted cold trying to do something that I am not good at.  So this time, paying for the repair seems right.   I have done this job on older truck, no problem.

What you see on my wipers is about as much as we got.  Very difficult to measure.

This morning in Oak Ridge. We are having a severe snow storm in East TN. I managed to brave the cold(31) and storm long enough to get this picture. By all means, don't go outside.   I can image a car pool of us.  We were be the one car stopped for going 6 MPH over the limit.  Probably 4 of us all loaded for bear with 2 guns each of different makes and calibers  and the officer would insist on running all our serial numbers.  We are going to be late.

I knew what I wanted and I searched http://autotrader.com/.    It took me a while but I found a really good 4x4 Sport Trac.  It is a old 03, however it was taken care of.  Drives like a dream.  I have had it a year now and still very happy.  I got it for 8k.   Ones I found at 5k, were all junk.  Also I figured I paid about an extra 2000 just for 4 wheel drive as I found 2 wheel drives cheaper in pretty good shape.  The one I got was by fair the nicest I looked at, including the 2 wheel drive models.  The deals are out there, but you have to find them and don't be afraid to walk away if it isn't right.

I have a friend that went to a Police Training for DUI.  he was a volunteer drinker for them.  He was drinking in one room and being monitored and then other officers used him for the field sobriety test.  They had to test him and determine how close he was before giving him a breathalyzer test.   He only managed to get .07, however he failed the field sobriety test.  they told him had it been an actually side of the road test they could have arrested even though he was below the legal limit because he failed the test.   I was going to be one of the volunteer drinkers but couldn't get the day off work.  Maybe next year.   The program was pretty neat though, they provided a ride to the event, the alcohol and a ride safety home.  The goal was to keep the people right at the edge, some a little over, some a little under.    Different people are affected at different levels, he was surprised he had only got .07 but said he did feel it pretty good and he even agreed at that level he should not be driving.  He said it was a real eye opening event.
