  1. Well...as Nafieh said...I think everyone already knows how they are going to vote....just think everyone wants to get their shots in ...or as Shaw just said...get certain things "on record" Hope Niceley wouldn't have made the motion to concur unless he knew he had the votes
  2. LOL...true, but whatever works...
  3. Yes..... ....at least he asked quick concise questions and then moved on.
  4. Just trying to come up with anything and everything to delay or kill the bill.
  5. Rep Niceley is definetly a good guy for us!!!!
  6. Yep... On a side note...long gun carry in vehicles passed.
  7. Motion to concur with Senate... Here comes the debate........
  8. LOL....No Problem....a few hours of watching the legislature can make anyone's brains a little mushy.....
  9. The message calendar usually follows the regular calendar.
  10. Umm...I said it was 3rd on the message calendar. Looks like they are about to finish up the regular calendar in just a minute.
  11. LOL.....nah, not hostile. Maybe resolution seeker would be a better term. ...and cowboy...done a bit of late night, alcohol fueled posting myself...so I do understand. But if a couple do show up and start pacing off, just holler at me and I'll refree.....
  12. On Item 14 of 32 of the regular calendar...... http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/videowrapper/default.aspx?CommID=2
  13. LOL....your hurt me man... Nah,...I'm just a natural born peace maker....or try to be. At the very least I try to add levity to a situation...even at inopportune times...
  14. LOL...of course...didn't think about that.
  15. Several things up in the air for me right now. I would like to come, but depends on how several things shake out. So don't count on me at this time, but I'll keep checking in and may even just show up.
  16. SB0976/HB0716 is on the house message calendar for today. It is the third item. There are 32 bills on the regular calendar. The session starts at 3:00 pm Just like the restaurant carry bill, the bill was amended in the Senate, so I'm guessing when it comes up, there will be a motion to either concur or non-concur with the senate bill, but haven't heard which it may be. Of course if non-concur prevails...we know it goes back to the Senate to recede or not. To be honest...it is starting to get late enough in the session, not sure if a conference committee is the best thing for this bill. To be honest I don't think the Senate version is that bad. It makes local parks legal by default. They can "opt out" or make it illegal by majority vote. Some want it to either be a 2/3 vote or no option to opt out at all. Personally I don't think it would pass like that...and at this point the only way to make those changes would be in a conference committee. However I could be wrong...many thought restrictions were acceptable on the restaurant carry bill to get it passed, but it ended up being sent to the Governor with no restrictions. Not sure what I'll have going on this afternoon, but will try to watch the session.
  17. Can't state and federal authorities have agreements between each other on enforcement of such things?
  18. Smith, Jamie....when the restaurant carry law passes, I think y'all should go to a restaurant OCing and continue this discussion....make sure to involve the wait staff and ask their opinion as well. Sorry...couldn't help myself.
  19. To be honest, I don't see a sudden, large increase in business at restaurants that serve alcohol after June 1. First as has been said HCP holders are only 3% of the population. Out of that 3% I would guess only half or less even carry on a regular basis, so let's say 1.5% of the population. Out of that 1.5% probably 20% (.3% of the population) or less have not gone to these restaurants because they could not carry. (Most just leave their handgun in the car or at home and go anyway) So only that about .3% of the population may have a new opportunity. For the rest of us it just means we don't have to leave our handgun in the car to go into places we have already been going.
  20. Wait....wait....wait....wait....wait....wait....wait....wait There is a bill that would allow us to carry where alcohol is served?!? When did this happen?!? Just kidding.....
  21. Although I'm very pro-OC, I have to agree in so far as a mass amount of people OCing on the first day of legal restaurant carry may not be the best statement to make.
