  1. Didn't the same official get in the middle of a play earlier in the game? I mean I know they have to be close to see everything...and that does mean being too close sometimes....but twice in the same game, by the same guy?
  2. I'm like the one guy...when I was watching it live, it didn't look that bad, but watching in slo-mo over and over...almost no doubt the umpire laid into him.
  3. No Problem... I have missed things like that myself when a post is made while I am typing mine.
  4. See DAS's post and mine above. I had a lawmaker tell me that the protection of 39-17-1322 is still in place. I think that is a pretty good opinion.
  5. I think what the Myth Busters found out was.. If a bullet is fired 100% straight up (90 degrees) and all of its energy is expeneded...and it free falls to earth it can not kill you. But...they also said that it would be unlikely that a shot would be 100% straight up...and if it is fired at an angle, it could still have enough velocity to be fatal. They also referred to the many media reports of people being killed from bullets "fired into the air".
  6. According to my State Rep you are 100% correct. I actually thought the debate was over on that...
  7. Welcome
  8. Welcome
  9. DAS you are exactly right and I think you found the key. I also agree on legislative intent, I see the AG using that language all the time in his opinions.
  10. http://tinyurl.com/5tv8qz Say hello to my noisy little friend! Bad guys are usually pretty sneaky and they usually don't stick around once the element of surprise is gone. Drive away danger with this motion strobe alarm system. It has an infrared sensor that can detect motion up to 30 ft. away with a wide 110° angle beam. When someone draws near, a piercing 120dB siren and bright flashing strobe light greet their arrival. The unwanted attention will cause bad guys to beat feet. Includes adjustable wall mount, remote control, emergency light with on/off switch, low battery indicators and exit/entry delay indications. Requires 4 AA batteries or a 9V DC adapter (not included).
  11. You will only spend all night in the interview room if you are arrested or if you voluntarily go. You do not have to go at that moment. If you choose to go, you can leave at anytime, as long as you are not under arrest. I think Phantom makes very good points.
  12. For those that may members of USA Carry and MySpace they now have a MySpace profile page here.
  13. I think he was more just directly responding to a post that was direct toward him. But now that we have all said our spill about any "personal" experiences and the like....you are right and let's see if we can keep this back on the original topic.... -------------------------------- IMO the easiest way for the police to find the guy is, if it was legal for you to use deadly force to protect your property. Then he'd be right there where you dropped him.
  14. I see what you are saying about the tense of the verb...and you are right that the law say "serves", but does that mean that the place is off-limits 24/7, even when alcohol can not legally be served? I'm not sure if does or doesn't. It seems the intent of the law is not to have people drinking alcohol in the same room where someone may have a handgun. Well since they can't legally serve alcohol at that time....that is not going to happen. Of course I also admit intent doesn't mean anything compared to what the words actually say.
  15. That's a good question....my first reaction is to say Yes. Because the law doesn't say anything about not being able to carry in a place that has a license to sell alcoholic beverages. Only that you can't carry in a places that is serving alcohol for onsite consumption...and they aren't serving any at that time. It will be interesting to here other's opinions....espcially the resident lawyers...
  16. I think a lot of this depends on the size of the department. I'm sure the larger departments in the state investigate more of the "lesser" crimes. ..and are able to do more like taking fingerprints. However many of the smaller departments do pretty much just take a report on a case like this. They don't take fingerprints. If the only have one investigator (as the county I grew up in does) he only has so much time to do investigations. I had one of the investigators tell me, that he would always spend his time to investigate sexual assault, battery and other crimes against persons, before property crimes, but then even if he had time to investigate property crimes it would be ones in which large amounts of items were stolen or valuable items. It's not so much that they just don't care as they only have so many resources.....which pretty much just sucks most of the time.
  17. Wow...I'm all the way in Oklahoma....and it seems I am feeling the waves from here.....
  18. Glad it turned out ok.... ....and have you noticed my sig line?
  19. GREAT STUFF
  20. Short answer Yes...at the point I was in fear. If I were in a wheelchair, that point would probably come sooner than if I weren't. If he is not pointing the gun at me I don't think I would shoot. I believe I would simply drive off if at all possiable. TN law does not allow for the use of deadly force to protect property. If it did, in certain circumstances I would shoot to prevent the theft of my property. The theft of my car is one of those circumstances, now if it was in a crowded parking lot...it would depend on the varialbles...distance I am from the car, what is in the line of fire, what is beyond the target, etc.. Yes, I feel I would be in fear after having recieved a direct threat upon my life.
