Oh I understand ghostrider, and I have no problem with a lot of parody pics of Obama. I also admit my first reaction on some of the racist ones was to laugh. My real point was simply the ones that are base solely on his race make the person doing the criticizing look small and narrow minded. But I will grant you that you can probably somehow tie anything back to race and there is for sure a double standard Dem/Repb and Black/White

I agree mousegun, there are several issues to be addressed. The ones you mention are the main ones to me as well. But not sure how much we should expect all at once. I think a flood of pro-carry/gun legislation would get too much negative press. But it is definitely a good idea to go ahead and let your Representative and Senator know your feelings on the issues.

Does anyone know if the speaker has to get a simple majority of the vote or at least 50 votes of the house? The reason I ask is the news mentioned a 3rd person besides Munpower and Nafieh interested in the Speaker position. If all the Dems voted for Nafieh and the Repub vote was split between the other two would he still get it even though less than half of the house voted for him? What my hope would be is the two Repub nominees would somehow decided which one of them would run. I figure this has been done before, either by a simple polling of the Repub Reps to see who has the most support or other means. I am very hopeful that Nafieh will be gone.....but not counting on it till it is done.

I have to admit I am disappointed in the amount of racist jokes and slurs I have heard and received on Obama since the election. I disagree with many of his policies, but that has nothing to do with his race. It is just my personal opinion, but if you attack him based simply on race your argument is really just a racist statement and not a real criticism.

From what I can find, there is no full song. What you hear in the opening credits is all there is, as of now anyway.

It means you can't carry where they serve alcohol EXCEPT in restaurants. You can't carry in a bar or other places that serve alcohol, but you can in restaurants. The requirements for a restaurant in (A)-(H) are so some bar owner can't get a hot plate and a microwave and call it a restaurant by serving burgers and nachos. I carry in AR on a semi-regular basis and have never had any problems. Razorback is from AR and hopefully will chime in with more info soon.

Despite what some may believe I am not anti-LEO. As I said, I know it is a hard and thankless job. I appreciate those that do it and always hope and pray for your safe return home and the end of the shift.

He may, but without consent, cause or a warrant, a good lawyer should be able to get it thrown out. But many are good at "verbal judo" and can usually get you to consent.

New Mexico does honor TN permits. NM State Police website But even if you didn't have a permit at all NM allows open carry without a permit and allows Open or Concealed carry in a vehicle without permit. See NM info on Opencarry.org

JLowe, you said in post #9 they couldn't stop you from going into the gun show armed. In post #11 I agree with you on that fact. But I also posed the question, couldn't they stop you from entering period just as they could anyone else? I thought I was courteous and simply posting a specific topic for discussion. You said in post #28 that they couldn't refuse you entry because you were an officer. You also said my home is not "open to the public" implying that the law is different for private property that is open to the public. Then you proceeded inform us of how you are special person from the rest of us and that if we wanted to be special as well we could join our local agencies. In post #35 I tried to explain that I wasn't talking about whether a LEO could be armed or not, but simply whether he can be denied entry onto private property. I have never addressed either way about whether LEOs or HCP holders should be allowed to carry at all times. But for the record I agree with your point of view on this. As far as my store scenario goes...I agree that if I were to discriminate against someone based on certain things, you may have a lawsuit, but I am not required to give a reason as to why I want to deny entry on my private property to someone. So if I simply say, "I do not want you here." I'm not sure how you could prove what my reasoning was. You still mention being armed....and I am still trying to say that is irrelevant to my point. I hate that you feel this has been attack on you and/or LEOs in general. That is not my intention. I was attempting to simply discuss and debate the rules of private property when it comes to LEOs. I know it is hard and thankless job, I appreciate you for undertaking it.

You seem to keep missing my point. I do not dislike LEOs. I do dislike law-breakers and those that think they are better than everyone else. (Not saying you are either). As far as your privileges, I have said the law allows you to be armed in places that those with a HCP can not. But my point is the law does not allow you to be just anywhere you want at anytime armed or not. Private property is still Private Property open to the public or not. The owner of that private property can deny entry to anyone he chooses, whether it is Joe the Plumber, a LEO or the President of the United States. The only way a LEO can enter the property against the will of the owner is if he has a warrant or some other legal grounds/reason to enter. Just because you want to is not a legal reason. If I ever happen to own a convince store or the like....and you come in and I tell you to leave and you don't immediately leave, I'll charge you with trespassing 39-14-405 (you'll notice there is no exception for LEOs) and you can charge me with whatever law you think I have violated by asking you to leave my own property. You may also want to see 2-7-103© since you think there are no restrictions as to where you can go.
