  1. Nice info. Thnx. What type rifle you shooting? Barrel length?
  2. VX-3 is my choice in that pric range. I'm About to pull the trigger on one this week. Upgrading from older Vari-x II 3-9. Going with the 4.5-14 listed above. Will be on my 308 rifle.
  3. The hospital where I work has the gun with the slash sign on each door, but not the legal posting. We've had people come into the ER as a patient with their CCW on them. The guns go to security until the patient is discharged. No hassles. If I were a guest, and no posting, then it would be concealed and carried.
  4. My wife and I both like the soft recoil. Not a huge difference from my Glock 26, but feels difference. Soft is all I can describe. Mine is 9mm.
  5. Braving the thorns are worth it. The big ones getting sweet around here.

I had a Glock 36, but found it didn't carry any smaller than my Glock 19. Used the same holster for both. Finally went with M&P Shield which carries better than either Glock. The XDs is about the size of the Shield, so if 45 is your bag, then I say go for it. 5 or six rounds is okay with me. Carried a j-frame for years and didn't worry too much.
  7. Haven't seen any deals lately, but got 2 for $40 total, on gunbroker a couple of weeks ago.
  8. Several folks in our congregation carry, that I know of. Not expecting trouble, but you never know these days.
  9. Ok, whose going to step up?
  10. Christ is risen indeed!
  11. I wish I could say I carried a 1911 everyday, but it's usually the LCP. If not, the a Glock 19. As summer is upon us, the 380 in the pocket is easier, and laziness to dress around the gun sets in.
  12. Easy to carry goes to the 9mm. You're more likely to need self defense against the two-legged animal, not the bear. Best to be prepared against a multiple attackers than the less frequent bear. Leave he 454 for hunting. Carry the 17 rounds of 9mm and an extra magazine. Have a comfy holster and enjoy your trip.
  13. I'd like to say Glock 19 or 26 because that's what my wife and I prefer and love. If those are too "blocky" for you, the Sig 239 is a soft recoiling pistol, but you give up some rounds due to single stack mags. Most of the newer micro 9mm are a little more to handle
  14. I tend to like Don Hume OWB holsters. I've had the kydex and just don't like the plastic feel.
  15. we moved last year and did the address change thing. I remember it was a very quick process. couple of weeks???
  16. Had SAO220 for a while. Still have the Glock 19. Lighter, more capacity, trigger just right
  17. +1 to 308WIN. easy to shoot, common caliber, lots of options, know for accuracy.
  18. I believe .270 is about as small someone should go for elk. The 30-30 is a deer slayer, but probably not an elk slayer. There are a few great, carbine size .308s out there. I have two, a Remington Model Seven and a Browning BLR. under 200 yards, a 30-06 won't beat it by much. Just sight it in 2 inches high at 100 Yds and your good at 200 and about 8" low at 300. I'd recommend a model seven in 308 if you can find it. Something with a 20" barrel is fine. No need for a long heavy rifle in 308.
  19. He's a great guy, with business and common sense. Usually a straight talker. I hope he has a shot
  20. I have thought many times of doing away with either my Glock 19 or 26. Instead, I bought an LCP for pocket carry. If I holster, then it's very hard to beat the 26. 19 usually stays at home. LCP goes everywhere. I'd keep the 27. Hard to beat for carry, except in the pocket. For a true pocket gun, you'll probably have to accept 380 or j-frame. I went with 380. I can round off 7 rounds quickly at close range. Save a few hundred bucks and problem solved. You'll regret selling the 27 if you are left without a larger caliber holster carry.
