    PLUM CRAZY

Can't find them in middle tn. I have an upper on the way and I need a lower to finish it.
  2. well old Mr Murphy reared his ugly mug. the synthetic stock is to deep for the magazine adapter to work. It will not feed reliably and If i position it so it does I can not use the mag catch. So I am falling back to plan b. I will be using the wood stock for this kit. If I can find another cheap large ring Mauser action I may try to use the synthetic stock to build one using Glock 21 mags. No I just have to inlet the wood stock blue the barrel and nut and solder on some sights.
  3. I have always liked mine. I bought in in the late 80's for 66. I refinished it and it is a great little carbine
  4. Took the plunge on the stock started cutting out the magazine area to fit the adapter for 1911 magazines now I need to finish fitting it and go buy the 1911 magazine catch assembly and some magazines.
  5. Yes you did. This weekend tackling the hard part. Going to do the stock cut out for the magazine adapter. Can't wait to finish it so I can shoot it.
  6. Nice rifle. If I change my mind and go with a traditional stock I may use your rear sight idea
  7. maybe someday I will suppress it right now just want to get it built and shot it. Been waiting on the kit since October.
  8. Thanks. I need to decide if I want to park, blue or Duracoat the barrel next. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...
  9. That's right you read it correctly, I am building a .45 acp Mauser. I ordered the kit from Rhineland. I had an ATI Mauser scout stock I had intended for another project but I decided to use it for this instead. I have a ton of 45 brass and loaded ammo with only a Smith and Wesson 625 revolver to shoot it through, so why not a .45 carbine. I am using a Spanish La Carona Mauser i got for $115. It had been radically bubbaized before I got it. The bore was rough and the stock had been hacked up really bad, however the action was nice and smooth and just needed to have all the crud cleaned out of it. So I got the barrel off the action cleaned it out. I Installed the Rhineland barrel and lock nut on the action following their instructions. I head spaced it with a dummy round. I will be going to a shop this weekend to double check the head space with a set of gauges just to be safe. the two biggest challenges will be cutting out the bottom of the ATI stock for the magazine adapter and getting roll pins or some other type of pin to go through the stock to hold the magazine adapter in. Unless someone has the other version ATI stock that uses the metal trigger guard they are willing to trade for one with a molded trigger guard. Here is where the project stands at the moment So I think it is off to a good beginning.
  10. If what a project gun you could get it and rechamber it to 7•62 x 25 that ammo is more afordable and easier to find. On weapons guild they were talking about such a conversion
  11. Double post
  12. Are you shooting lacquered steel cased ammo? If so the lacquer may be buiding up in the chamber. Or are the rounds binding coming out of the magzine? Can you post a picture?

  17. I had one I customized. Loved it. I had welded on and scuplted an extended beaver tail and did front cocking serrations. it was an awesome pistol but I was out of work for 6 months and had to sell it. I wish I could have held on to it.
  18. If we want to get a game going we need to come up with a date and get it on the calender. The field is close to the Ag center off of I65 in Franklin. The owner would prefer to limit games to 30 or so people. So waht dates would work and how many might want to play? Here is my mg42 and some of my mp44
