My father in law has been catchibg bass up to two pounds there the last few weeks. On Carters Creek Pike where it intersects with Coleman Road there is a pay to fish Lake that I have seen several people fishing at. Favorite recipe for cold weather, good for watching football. Green Chili 2 pounds shredded smoked pork, turkey, or shredded brisket 3 medium onions coarse chopped Garlic as much or as little as you want 4 small cans chopped green chilles 1 jar Hernadez green chile salsa. 2 teaspoons roasted and ground cummin or more if you like 1 teaspoon ground corriander 1 teaspoon red chil powder 1/4 cup butter margarine or olive oil 1/4 cup flour put all ingrediants in a crock pot and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or in a dutch oven in the oven at 200 degrees. If it is not thick enough use the butter and flour to make a roux. This should be a good thick hearty stew serve with Fritos or tortillas. Topped with grated cheddar or sour cream. You can make it as hot or as mild as you like. You can use jalapenos instead of the green chilis.

Yes it would be just as strong. It can be done with just a propane torch.

I like to fish. I prefer fly fishing but slowly starting to geting into spinning tackle. I also take old bottles and put lights in the and sell them at craft fairs. I enjoy building and tinkering around on things.

I will be at Charlies tomorrow, 10/31/2012 shooting some zombie targets. I plan on getting there around 10am and staying for a few hours. Bring some targets and we will practice taking care of the undead. Hope to see some one else there.

I don't think it will. I keep a modified tube in my 870 and I get okay slug performace at 50 but buck will spread too much to be effective. A cylinder bore is a straight 12 gauge barrel no real choke. So the pattern will spread even more. If you get it you may want to try a barrel with screw in chokes to see if you can get the performace you want. At home defense distance out to about 10 yards you will have a fairly tight pattern. At 20-25 yards buck should spread out over a standard siloutte target. If he cut it square and deburred it correctly it should be decent for home use. The proof will be in the shooting every barrel patterns differently. When I was at Scattergun technologies I patterned some 870 barrels using the same receiver. All the barrels were supposed to be the same but the patterns were dramatically different.

Add my .02 worth. My Plum Crazy lower is great. It has over 1000 5.56 through it and at least 3000 .22 lr. I have the CMMG .22 conversion kit and it is fun plus saves some money The only problem I had was the trigger and sear went bad and I started gettting bursts. Replaced them with the Frontier trigger group and no prblems since. Very crisp 4 pound pull. I am a member at Charlies as well. I can meet you there for you to shoot it if you want to try it.

It was top flifght defensive ammo in the late 80's early to mid 90's. They stopped [producing it beacuse the libs thought it was too dangerous and Winchetser caved to their demands. The ammo is a very efficent jacketed hollow point. when it expands in tissue the jacket has very sharo petals almost like talons. Had some years ago. I don't think it is worth the price they are asking but for a collector with more money than sense maybe so. It works out to 1.76 a round. If I remeber correctly it used to be about .75 to .80 cents a round. Expensive but it will stop a zombie cold...

The locking mechanism is worn out. It can be repaired but that would require the hand fitting of a new part. It could get expensive. Be sure that whoever you take it to fix has experience when I was gunsmithing I saw a lot of these old single shots that people did really dumb things to repair problems like you have

My had had cervical and uterine cancer. It can be a tough road. Not just dealing with the medical part but with the emotional and pschological aspects as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Take care of her but remember to take care of yourself as well do not let your self get run down or sick from worrying. My wife is cancer free and has been for 10 years.
