I want a rami someday. I like cz products, the few I have fired all felt great and shot well. They have been around, making good stuff, for a very long time.

dells are pricy due to the service agreement, or they used to be, I havent bought anything this year. If a mac and a dell cost about the same, the mac (and the dell) are probably both overpriced unless you like the dell service. But if you want to learn it osx is pretty cool, its one of the few stable "unix" platforms that isnt either super expensive or an ongoing hobby to keep functional -- you can actually USE the computer rather than fight the OS all day. I have a problem with mac and Job's attitude about data rights and freedom of speech and other things, so I avoid them for personal reasons, but osx is the best thing to come out of mac since the 2E and learning to use it is time well spent. If nothing else, you can use on the off windows years (have you noticed that every other windows version is very poor?! 7 is a good one though, vista was a sorry hog, xp was good, the pattern goes all the way back to 95/nt).

Yes and no. They have a site Ammunition for sale | Ammo sale | Cheap Ammo where you may be able to contact them but its not clear if you can order it from there, over the phone, or at all. Ive only seen it at the occasional large gun show, and not often. As for the dud, I have had duds in brand name factory ammo too, stuff happens. These guys provide inexpensive ammo, something we need more of, and so long as there are no dangerous problems (double charges or no powder rounds that block your barrel, etc), the occasional dud can be overlooked. I would gladly pay 50% less per box for a 1-2% dud rate.

Gun safety is a 2 way street. I dont think anyone would say it was the gun owner's fault if I go down to the range and zip past the targets on my bike, getting shot in the process. The gun owner has the bulk of the responsibility, to not point the gun unsafely, but people around need to be paying attention and not move in front of the gun either. If they do that, they are the one at fault for not paying attention and for not following common sense safety practices and general self preservation techniques. I totally expect that the one who sat in the line of sight did so on purpose to create a story, many reporters have no ethics and will do things like this. Even if it went slightly wrong, I appreciate her pulling it out --- the public needs to see upstanding people who carry guns and lead by example. I think she was trying to support gun rights (that is the part I appreciate) but went about it the wrong way.

A lot of folks shoot bullseye at a casual level with just ruger mark or buckmark or relatively inexpensive 1911/22 guns, probably $500 investment (includes a red dot sight and custom grips on many of them), using relatively inexpensive ammo (several use the 100 packs of CCI for example). Several of the shooters only do the .22 stage to save money on ammo and gear (and most of the 45 shooters reload the ammo). If you want to win the big, serious matches you probably need better gear, of course, but you can get started and work on the skill for a fairly low cost. Unfortunately the sport is tied to the 1911 so you gotta have one if you are serious, and that is where the big costs are; those guns need money thrown at them at an alarming rate, so it becomes quite costly if you become hooked on it and want to actually compete in serious events. Doing it for fun is much, much cheaper, but even an intro level 1911 that is accurate enough to do this is not "cheap", probably going to run $1000-1500 or so for gun + red dot + fitted bushing.

I wonder if a 223 is bigger than a 22 caliber. Probably. What an idiot, there are dozens of low powered, larger caliber rifles -- by this stupid defination a 9mm carbine is a High powered rifle with that evil magazine detachment. Heck a glock handgun is a high powered rifle by this defination. The only thing in there that I agree with are harsher penalties for gun crime, which is fine so long as government is not in charge of it -- they cannot be trusted to do even that much. Once the harsher penalties are enacted, the O and his goons needs to go to jail for selling guns to mexico under these new conditions.

Thanks! According to that I have MKI.

If you find yourself down this way I would let you try mine if you buy the ammo. I know its made by IMI but not which exact generation it is, got it in the late 90s whatever that means. It may be a mark 1, for all I know, they all look alike. The mixed caliber sets are pricy but still available. My next DE may be a 30-30 revolver... sorely tempted by that...

If you like revolvers, get a revolver. However, consider a few things: Having one 9mm semi auto around with some ammo is a useful thing to have, 9mm is one of the most common rounds and you can usually find it, higher capacity has some merits, and you can expose the boys to a different type of firearm. I would keep one semi auto regardless, for a variety of reasons. That said, have you considered a 9mm revolver? There are some rugers and other brands that have a 357/38/9mm setup with 2 cylinders. That way you could at least USE 9mm ammo in a platform that you like, and you could get rid of the auto if you disagree with my logic behind keeping it. Given that you have that much ammo, this may be a good choice?

Well, don't sell it for cash, use it on a trade if you decide to let it go. If you catch the right trade you will get more "value" for it that way. But keeping it is sound advice as well, its a well made gun and difficult to replace, the only thing that is as rugged and reliable in that price range would be a good mil surplus gun or a cosmetically damaged brand name gun (not including revolvers of course, talking auto for auto here).

Jab, small guns like that point naturally, from what I have tried point shooting gets harder as the gun gets larger, at a rapid rate. The only guns I can point shoot decently are my really small ones, the px4, the makarov, and the 380, and the 380 is easiest of those (its a good inch shorter than the others). I have been working on this skill --- one thing I was doing was pointing, then looking down the sights to see where it would go, which showed me that I have a slight curl to my hands that I am training out. I can do it if I think about it but not by instinct yet.

If you are correct (your friend has not done anything to trip the system) the most likely cause is a database entry that mixed up his check with someone else's. He needs to be proactive about this --- if there is a database error, it will come back denied again on the appeal unless he gets involved to figure out what the problem is and prove that there is an error. Its not likely they will find the error for him on that appeal without some "help" from your friend.

Internet rumors say it you can shoot the 38 or 44sp but it won't cycle the action. Changing the recoil springs may work but the gun also uses a gas system so that may have to be tuned as well. It also fouls the chamber so swapping back to longer ammo without a cleaning is a problem, the longer brass sticks in the gunk from the shorter ones. The most common theme here seems to be "you can, but don't". IMHO the whole cheap ammo thing is a joke. Its like buying a 1/4 million dollar sports car and saying gas is expensive. If you can afford one of these, you can afford to feed it the proper ammo.

if you google tn gun shows, you can find out, the rest of the year is up for most of TN.

Its electronics under physical stress. Its just a matter of time, really, for the switch, or recoil, or heat, or rain, or whatever to kill one. You should get years of normal service from one, and the warrenty should back that up.

I think its the same frame, and same grip, on all calibers of the 44/50/357 models. Not 100% sure but it seems to be. I must have a good one, it hits what I aim at pretty well for fixed sights.

I have tru glo window on my .22 target pistol. The switch wore out an they had me a new one swapped for the bad one inside a week, no questions asked. Good service for a cheap sight that I bought to see if I liked the red dots. I would buy their stuff again. It took a lot of use to wear out the switch, 2-3 uses a week on that gun for nearly a year. I have a center point tube on my 12 ga shotgun, it came on it. Works great. No recoil problems, its been shot hundreds of times.

I have one, but its the original so there were no other models to pick from back then best I remember. I say the 44 is more desirable due to the wide variety and availibility of 44 mag ammo, uncommon calibers, even if more powerful, are frustrating. I think the biggest change since my model is they made the parts interchange. Magnum Research is the closest to what I have. Mine is dead on accurate, tame recoil, comfortable to shoot, and is very reliable. I cannot say anything bad about this gun, at the most its a bit large and heavy if you were thinking to carry it. But the long barrel one looks very interesting... Magnum Research I would have to pick this up to see if it can be held/controlled easily but I like the look and idea a lot from a picture only standpoint. Thats about as much choice as you get, a couple of colors, and a couple of barrel lengths. I have no comment on spending more money to get a tiger striped gold pimp gun.

TecLoader SL-12 Shotgun Speedloader They cut into the gun (gunsmith work) to make room for this thing to work. But they do work well, once you have practiced with it a bit. Its on my to-do list, but watching the guys that have it once a month has me wanting one. Several folks have made their own reloader tube for this system to put 5 or 6 in at a time. Video of it in action:

Texas executes Mexican Murderer/Rapist of 16 year odl girl.
Jonnin replied to K191145's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If the person is guilty, sure, I accept that. But laws in some countries are a bit different than here... such as guilty until proven innocent, or guilty until a bribe is paid, etc. I do not trust our court system very much, let alone some other countries, to do the right things. -
It depends a lot. I tend to spend around an hour at it, and that usually means one of these: .22 pistol or rifle, 100 or so shots 9mm or mid range pistol, 50-100 shots large pistol (45, 44, etc) 50 ish shots (less if I take the revolver 44 but I usually take the auto 44) semi auto rifle (223) 20-100, depends on my mood, accuracy vs rapid fire large bolt action rifle, 10-20 shots over a long period of time that covers most of it. I usually take 2 boxes of ammo for whatever gun, but some boxes are 20 or 25 rounds.

I dunno, I am ok with us working with the mexican government to keep things friendly, so long as the end result is the same. I do not even know what the current treaties allow for, but I would sure hope that if someone were arrested in mexico, they would have a chance to get some help from the US before being executed or imprisoned for life or whatever --- and that means a 2 way effort for such cases, by both countries. And if some american did that sort of crime in mexico, I would hope we would tell them they can do whatever they want to with the prisoner (after checking up on the case to ensure the charges are valid,etc.). -
Not the kind of shots that are fun =( If you get to feeling better hit me up and maybe we can do the fun type one day, maybe at shooter's or something. Prayers sent!
