  1. I had always heard/thought that you should qualify with the caliber you will carry or larger. Because if you qualify with a .22 revolver and go out and have to shoot someone with a .45 ACP then that could be used against you in court. The prosecutor could try to argue that you may not be "proficient" with that caliber because they have found that you used a little ol' .22 plinkster to test with. No matter how many guns you own or if you shoot every week. It would be how the jury saw it. I am not saying that could happen and I don't even know if it has ever happened. Just something I had always heard and it does make sense.
  2. I had always thought the gun Hitler used was in a private collection. Not sure. I just thought I saw it on a show a year or two back.
  3. I would only fire on someone AFTER drawing my weapon on them and they do not conform to my demands. If they comply, they will get a free ride to the SO. If they advance on me then that is a decision to made on the spot.
  4. Wow. I couldn't imagine that much. I only play Blackjack. I've gotten pretty good with it over the years. I came back home about $750 heavier this time. Usually I just break even.
  5. Wow. There are more Columbia people than I thought.
  6. That will be the last time he legally carries a gun. He is lucky he didn't kill anyone.
  7. I drive a truck locally for a trucking company. I used to drive over the road for 5 years but went local a while ago to be home at night. Anyways, I still do a week long west coast trip for them every couple months or so. They got me one to Vegas. I have been there several times but always stayed in the truck but this time I had the lady with me and we decided to have a good time. We delivered in Vegas and took 5 days off out there. Figured we may as well. We parked the truck and got a nice room on the 18th floor of the Excalibur. Our view was amazing. We did about all one could do in Vegas without going to jail. We even went to the pawn shop on Pawn Stars. We rented a scooter to ride around on and came about a gun store called 'full auto' I believe so I looked at their website prices and it blew my mind. They go from around $79 for a few handgun rounds to around $800 for a couple hundred rounds from an AR/MP5/UZI etc. I have shot full auto rifles and don't really care to again. I called and asked if they had a Glock 18 or a S&W 500. They had neither. Those are the only two guns I wanted to pay to shoot. She said they had a Desert Eagle .50 so I asked how much for just 2 or 3 magazines through it and I was told it would cost a $39 range fee and $79 for the ammo and use of the gun. As much as I would like to have shot it, no way was a paying 120 dollars for 2 magazines. They stay busy though. They must make a killing. Has anyone on here ever been to one of those places out there
  8. I would go with some good binoculars or a spotting scope.

    M&P 15-22?

I bought one a few years ago when they came out so I guess I had a "1st Gen". That is one gun that I wish I hasn't sold to this day. I literally put thousands of the cheap 550 pack federals through it with less than 10 hickups I'd say. I put a cheap Tasco 3-9x40 scope on it and it was a real tack driver at 25-50 yards. I shot if further but never had the need to. I would love to own another one day. I would definitely put the 15-22 on my SHTF list as far as a rimfire.
  11. If he were to have go crazy and shoot up a bunch of people there would be a thread saying "well he was threatening to on the internet for everyone to see and our tax dollars did nothing to stop it" or something along those lines...
  12. Almost looks like a ripple on the water.
  13. I have just been periodically through the night been glancing at the radar on my phone and have all night been seeing what looks to be making "rings". At first I thought it was maybe radiating from the center of the radar station or something but it has continued to move. I googled some strange pictures and it's pretty interesting to see. These are some screenshot pics from the radar on my phone tonight.
  14. It was hilarious. I'm gonna buy it when it comes out.
  15. I won $460 at the Gold Strike in Tunica a few years ago. I had been doing good at blackjack all day and got up to leave for the trip home but on the way by some slot machines I decided to empty the loose bills from my pockets into a nickel slot machine. You could bet like 20x's the nickel. So on my second Max bet of a grand $2, I hit my little jackpot. I didn't even sit in the chair. Was just walking by. My friend had lost a bit at the tables and was pissed. Haha
  16. Nice yote. Good coat for this time of year too. I usually hunt in the winter but I think I may get an early start this year. I have a new AR just itching to take one.
  17. I'm on that now. The field officers I'm going out with are really knowledgeable. Thanks
  18. I have been a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the Sheriff's Dept. since February. After firearms training, wrestling with other officers in the dirt and dust and hours in training, I'm going out on the road with another deputy tonight. Kinda excited to be out on the road. I've had several hours in a police car but never as a deputy. Hopefully I don't meet any of you tonight. Haha
  19. Welcome! You've sure found a great forum with a good bunch of folks.
