  1. As far as battery life goes, my RAZR Max is one of the best offered now. I am very impressed with it over just the RAZR.
  2. I am an Android guy here. I have only had droid phones. I have played around with several friends' iPhones and honestly, I just do not like them. I used to have the Motorola Droid X for a couple years and now I have the Droid RAZR Maxx and I love it. I'm running "Ice Cream Sandwich".
  3. After reading this I believe I should have gotten $1,500 out of my Glock 34 when I sold it. It had been dialed in and out.
  4. I always thought if I ever won tons of money I'd be good at managing it. I'd build a nice cabin and set aside about 20 grand for guns and be set lol
  5. I know there is no excuse for littering the highway but if his wife is anything like mine, he may not have known it was there. I used to have a rack that slid into the hitch on my Jeep and she would put the trash bags on it thinking I would drop them at the dump on the way to town but I get in my vehicle from the front and wouldn't see them. I've gotten out at stores in town only to notice my 'load'. It looks like someone may have taken it out to the car and it was locked so they hung it and the driver may just really be unaware.
  6. I used to Have an H&R Ultra-Varmint single shot .223. It was pretty much the handi rifle but with a thumb-hole stock and a bull barrel. I had a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x50 scope on it and you better believe that thing was a great rifle. I took so many coyotes with that gun. The only reason I sold it was to fund my first AR purchase which took it's place. I had a bipod on it and from a good bench or prone position I was shooting 2-3" groups at 150 yards. I hunted with Winchester Supreme 55 grn. I would recommend spending just the extra few dollars for the thumb hole. Here she is. It was one that got away.
  7. Welcome back home. I carry the 27 most of the time.
  8. That's a pretty sweet holster to be from an old purse. Looks good. And comfortable.
  9. Another light that I like to pocket carry is the 5.11 A1. Nice little light at about 55 lumens. It runs on one AA on high for a little over an hour.
  10. The 686 is on my wish list. I have shot a couple and I must say I like it better than my sp101. Nice gun.
  11. I carry everyday. No exceptions. I can carry a few more places since I've been in law enforcement thanks to the LEOSA.
  12. Our well at out campground is chlorinated with bleach. There is a 450 gallon water tank and next to it is a ten gallon tank of bleach with a small pump. It's dosed into the water tank at 3 ppm. Everyone's campers are fed from the well. Probably about 25 or so. It is used mostly for showers but is is drinkable and I have done so. My father is head of a local water plant so he was voted by the campground to maintain the well. Once a month he has to send in samples to the state. Although Dolomite's way is more favorable by most, I wouldn't have a problem at all doing either. Honestly, if you were to see everything that water goes through at the plant, you might not wanna drink tap either lol but it's perfectly safe. At least in one town I know of......
  13. Back a couple years ago, my girlfriend and I found a baby squirrel that appeared to have fallen from a tree. We knew it was illegal to keep them but we did for about 2 months until he started acting sick. I let a vet tech friend of mine take him and they sent it to a wildlife rehabilitation place. This is "Hammy" on my arm. I got him out at my friend's wedding and the photographer went crazy snapping pics. The bridesmaids went crazy for him too ; ) I miss him. He would sleep in the front pocket of my Carhart T shirt.
  14. Corded phones do work when the power is out. They will not, however work if an entire pole or something has collapsed or the line has been broken but just during a power outage, they work the same.
  15. I wonder if we are going to hear about more "cleaning accidents" the closer it gets to Dec. 21? Or whatever day the Earth is gonna "end"....? I don't believe anything's gonna happen but there are some real believers.
  16. I watched it last week but wasn't very impressed. I don't look for it to be on next season. I may be wrong though.
  17. Here are a couple pics of my world. I used to drive over the road for about 4 years but for the last couple years I've been driving local per my request. I like to be home each night with the fam. My truck is a 2013 Kenworth 660 with a 515 Cummins ISX with an APU (generator). I have been to 48 states so many times I can't count. I drive just Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee etc now. About once every six weeks the fiance takes a few days off and we do a run out to Cali and back for some good bucks. She is my co-pilot lol. On the weekends and some weeknights I go on patrol and do transports to Nashville and Murfreesboro and so on. I've been a deputy for about a year now. I enjoy it.
  18. I have carried the Glock 22, 23 and 27. The 22 is my duty gun and I haven't carried it much while in plain clothes. I carried my 23 for 2 or 3 years but I now carry the 27. I may carry an extra 22 magazine with me. I wouldn't feel undergunned in a shoot out with my 27 as long as I had the mags. I am just as accurate with it as I am with my full size.
  19. I used to carry with an empty chamber before I went to Glocks. Yes, it does take longer to engage if you have to rack the slide but to say that if you don't carry in the pipe, you shouldn't carry at all is a little far. I would much rather have a gun with a full magazine than no gun at all..
  20. OK. Its incorrect then. I plainly said it's just something I have heard. We all know that everything on this forum is fact right? I guess I'll be the one to beat on today because I wasted 12 seconds of everyone's valuable time. From now on I won't share anything I've heard. I will Google and fact check to make sure not to knock anyone off their rocker. It seems to me that many on here just wait and watch for something to pounce on. It's quite rude sometimes honestly. Instead of saying "oh I've never heard that. Don't sound right though", you take it further to say I'm wasting your time. I'm not whining but I guess I haven't learned to just let loose and say whatever. I need to learn to cut my courtesy switch off.
  21. I'm not worried at all. Just tossing something out there for y'all to chew on.
  22. I doubt it has ever happened. I have just heard it a few times.
