I heard it wasn't a seizure but a full body orgasm when Obama took the oath of office. The surge of socialist power was just a little too much ecstasy for him. (But yeah, he's still alive).

Well, there's always hope:death:

How do i feel about the inauguration?

Hmm... well... I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst, I guess.

Even for that, when I saw ol' 'Bama giving that stiff-armed wave there at the end, I kind'a got the feeling I knew what the passengers on the Titanic must've felt like right before they headed to the lifeboats.

I, for one, do not wish to see socialist programs succeed. I am not saying that I wish anything bad upon this country or its people, but socialism has never been successful for the citizens in any country.

If these socialist agendas are "successful", then they will only be temporary, but they will garner public support of the sheeple, and necessitate the want for more invasive and broader socialist policies. Socialist policies breed upon themselves, and a little now, will necessitate more and more later. Socialism & Communism are like cancers, they start out as bailouts, "a helping hand", etc. These then progress to governmental ownership of businesses, banks, medical institutions, etc. Regulations upon media then start to mandate what is "politically correct" I know that we already have a largely liberal media, but that is the choice of the owners, and not because of the fear of imprisonment, torture, or death.

We already have a congress that seems to want to repeal the 22nd. Amendment. That would lead the way for a dictatorship. We also have a President & his cabinet who will enthusiastically rid the private citizens of their most effective weapons. New York is even bearing down upon black powder arms. Why should we trust a government who does not trust us? Our system of government was founded so that our legislators & politicians should fear the public for which they serve, not the other way around.

Every Congress for at least the past 20 years has had someone propose to repeal the 22nd amendment. Nothing new there.

Very true my friend! I honestly do not believe that the 22nd amendment will be repealed, but I can not remember a time in my life that we had a more liberal - socialist Congress, Cabinet, and President than we do right now. It is frightening to think that the President himself feels that the Constitution and BOR are flawed documents. We have prospered with our freedoms for nearly 233 years with those documents, and now we have a group of people in power that feels the urge to "CHANGE" them.

I'm assuming you know the actual process for the Constitution to be amended or have an amendment repealed? Prez/Congress alone can't do it. Actually, if I recall correctly, the Prez doesn't even have a chance to approve or veto.

I am aware of the States involvement to ratify, repeal or add anything to the Constitution, but I feel somewhat uneasy that we now have a group of people "ruling" this great country, that would not hesitate to do just that.

A formal repeal of any Constitutional Amendment is not likely at all, but look at what the libs have done to the Second Amendment. It has lost quite a few teeth since the days of being able to purchase a Colt Monitor, or a Thompson SMG at the local hardware store. Gone is the convenience of bieng able to order the firearm of your choice and recieve it on your doorstep.

My feelings on the new administration are that they are going to give us a lot of cheap entertainment for the next four years, considering it was quite a rap/hip hop festival for Obama's swearing in ceremony. I'm sure the fed govt. will be as well run as the city of Memphis...which always gives the suburbs something to laugh about!
