H&K USP and Straight-Thumbs Grip?

Any H&K USP shooters been able to find a straight-thumbs grip that works? The safety switch is bulky enough to be murdering the inside of my thumb joint when I do a thumbs over safety grip. The recoil just nails the hard edge of the safety into the joint. Anyone that shoots a USP regularly use a straight-thumbs grip, and if so did you have a similar issue?

I shoot like that, only I keep my thumb under my safety. Just feels better to me.

I just tried thumb over safety and that's just awkward. I feel like I would lose a great deal of control if I shot like that.

I use the large grip insert in my p2000. Also, I am a thumbs off frame guy. I have similar issues with a P30 though. Wish they would sell the short slide release here.

This thumbs forward grip has been a curse and a blessing. I can shoot faster, but gun selection's very limited now.
