Taurus 605

Recommended Posts

I just got a Taurus 605 i inherited from my grandfather. I was giving a wipe down and noticed the cylinder dosent turn every time the trigger is pulled. I am not even sure he shot this gun. I emailed Taurus customer support about it. Has anyone ever had any dealings with them? Just wondering what kind of response I will get.

I own a few Taurus revolvers from the late 90's or early 2000's.  Fortunately, I've never had to send one in for service.

On the other gun boards, people tend to denigrate Taurus CS, but others say it has improved considerably in the past year or so.

Hopefully someone here will have recent first-hand experience.  Keep us posted.

I bought a used import with the importer applied SN. Taurus wouldn't send me a pin because they didn't recognize the serial number. That's my one and only issue ever with Taurus and it was recent. I've heard other horror stories. I'm just glad to have not had any other issues with Taurus product since I have a few.

I had a revolver I bought used that was old enough to have the transferable lifetime warranty. It had issues and they replaced it. Covid caused the replacement t to take 7 months, but not really their fault. So. beater gun turned into. NIB one. But YMMV and if that is sentimental that might not work for you.

To be fair, I understand their wanting to make sure I have what I say I have but I offered to send a picture and explained it was a used import. just send what I asked for. Stupid people have ruined life for the rest of us.
