Here is an old pic of me doing a "little helicopter ride" back in my Flight Test days. That is me hanging on in the front seat while the Boeing Test Pilot tries to rip the fire control radar off of the mast mount of a Longbow Apache pre-production aircraft.

Seem like a good idea at the time.

I was born at Campbell.

My father was an Army Aviator. He started on the Huey's and Cobras. When he passed he was working on the AH-64A. Back before they were "in production".

Looks like fun HERO.

We always wanted the big fan on top when I crewed the H34 At that time no one had looped a chopper yet. . H34 was a pretty big machine when I was involved. Not to hyjack the thread

Helicopters have 4 blades.

Someday bell will learn that.

I guess I will have to post pictures for your approval next time we are flying the Bell 407.

* and guess since we have a total of 4 Kiowa/206s, we technically have 8 blades :D

I am thinking they got it figured out.

They also figured out that "skids may be for kids" but "wheels are for the handicapped". ;)

And really, to get technical, an Apache, 58D, AH-1Z, UH-1Y all have 8 blades (4 main and 4 tail). The Blackhawk has 4 main blades and 2 tail rotor paddles. :D

Your Dad did Good! Its a great aircraft that brought me home when other airframes wouldn't have made it.

God Bless your Dad and his service. :D
