big time had up at the Norris shooting range today.

It was another milsurp fest. For me the highlite was shooting Garufas 1917 bolt rifle. I am not sure but I think it was once carried in battle during WW1 by Alvin York. Without a doubt it had the smoothest action of any bolt rifle I have fired.

I also dusted off my SKS and fired quite a bit of ammo. Certainly the most I have shot out of it in a long time. And not to leave it out, but I lost count of rounds through the 91/30. I did shoot it enough that the cleaning rod broke. It seperated from the threaded part of the rod. I have about three threads left on it. Never heard of such a thing. but I don't really care, just adds to the Mosin lore that is the 91/30

i took a few pictures of the guys in various action poses.

Newest rifle of the day award goes to OS with his Marlin 1894c chambered in 38/357. What a shooter that is. Hitting the plate at 125 arshins was no problem at all. I will give you all one guess where he got it at.

Oh yeah, that plate. No pic but it looks like a piece of swiss cheese. Actually it makes the plate from last week look like a solid piece of steel.

Garufa was banging rounds off of it with his little transylvanian auto loader. Definitely good shooting.

Sorry you others could not make it. Maybe next time.

Yep, was another fine ole time at the funkadelically charming Norris range.

The sheer concussion of a couple hundred rounds of Mosin driven awesomeness by Mike357, Garufa, and BubbiesDad, was well, just awesome in its sheer concussionosity. Not to mention Garand, SKS, and Mauser detonations.

Real men, these, even with rubber butt plates.

And not ashamed of wearing them, neither. :D

Yep, still don't have my Blackhawk as companion piece yet (and now can't afford it for a while), but love love love this carbine. Yippee kai yi yea!

PS: that's my cell phone under shirt, NOT a rubber butt plate attachment!

I really wish I could've made it I wanted to show off the Frankentruck and blast some ammo through the p-64. Unfortunately, my brake job turned into the nightmare that is my life and ran long.

And I might have maybe sat down in the recliner afterwards with the intention of showing up on the tail end of the shoot and nodded off for a minute or 120. Getting old sucks.
