Wow. He would hope he'll be asking if people want fries with their order for the foreseeable future.... what a piece of scum.

I wish it hadn't shocked the Boise State players so much, would have been nice to see them rip this dude's helmet off and kick his arse...

I think both players should be suspended. Some buddy's and me were watching this at lunch at a local eatry on ESPN. The guy from Boise wasn't all Mr. Innocent. He was taunting the Oregon player, before he got sucker punched. A Boise coach was trying to get him to stop when the punch came. That's the coach you see with his back to the camera. He just didn't get there in time. That clip above doesn't show the taunting.

Boothe should get suspended for at least several games, if not the year. The Boise Player should be suspended for a game and be forced to watch the very embarassing video of what happens to smart A$$ players that taunt other players from opposing teams with their helmets off! What retards on both sides.

Sorry, taunting and trash talking, while I don't like it, does not justify a sucker punch like that. He did not "deserve" anything, and the Oregon player needs to be residing in a jail cell right now for what he did.

You want to square off and fight, fine, go for it... but be a man, take off your helmet and go toe to toe... swinging when the other guy isn't even looking is cowardly.

Of course we don't know what the Oregon player had said before the Boise State player started "trash talking" either. We do know that the same Oregon player was suspended from the team earlier this year. We also know that he had 8 carries for -5 yards on the night so he probably was in a pretty bad mood.

It was just lucky that the ESPN cameras were on the Boise State coach as he walked to midfield so that they caught the altercation. I watched this live and it did not end there either. He later went after one of his own teammates and then a group of fans. He had to be restrained by security, the Oregon staff, and other teammates to keep him from going in to the stands. He made a royal jackass of himself for probably four solid minutes. Pure thug all the way. There is no way I would have someone like that on my team. Hopefully the Oregon AD and coach will boot his ass on down to Burger King so he can get started with the rest of his life.

Blount is gone for the rest of the season....

Punch at Boise ends Blount's season

EUGENE, Ore. -- Oregon has suspended running back LeGarrette Blount for the remainder of the season for punching Boise State linebacker Byron Hout after Thursday night's loss.

Immediately following Boise's 19-8 victory, an ESPN replay of the incident showed Hout taunting Blount as the teams converged onto the field. As a Broncos assistant coach moved to separate Hout from Blount, the Oregon senior threw a right cross that connected with Hout's right jaw. Hout went down and popped right back up.

"Under no circumstance is fighting acceptable," the NCAA said in a statement Friday. "If it occurs before or during a game, the officials enforce the rules. If it occurs after a game, institutions and conferences decide how to address the situation. We trust our members to handle these situations appropriately. Sportsmanship is everyone's responsibility, including student-athletes, coaches, officials, institutions and fans.

In a statement prior to Blount's suspension, Oregon president Richard Lariviere called the player's behavior "reprehensible."

"We do not and will not tolerate the actions that were taken by our player. Oregon's loyal fans expect and deserve better," Lariviere said. "The University of Oregon Athletics Department is reviewing the situation and will take appropriate action, reflecting the seriousness of the player's behavior."

Boise State spokesman Max Corbet told The Associated Press in an e-mail Friday that head coach Chris Petersen will not suspend Hout. Instead, Petersen will spend time with Hout this week to help him learn from what happened.

Boise State replayed Blount slugging Hout several times on the giant screen in the north end zone of Bronco Stadium. Amid jeers from the crowd, Blount, who was being escorted from the field by Oregon assistant coach Scott Frost, got into another confrontation with fans.

According to Blount, one fan brandished a chair at him and another punched him. Two police officers and Frost nearly carried Blount to the Boise State athletic building, where the visiting team dresses.

After the game, a contrite Blount came out of the locker room.

"I should have handled that situation a lot better than I did," he said. "I apologize. We will never have a game like this again. ... The game, as it went on, just got more frustrating and more frustrating for me in general. I shouldn't have said anything. I shouldn't have done anything."

Blount, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound transfer from East Mississippi CC, rushed for 1,002 yards and a school-record 17 touchdowns last season. He carried the ball eight times for minus-5 yards and caught two passes for 13 yards against Boise State.

Players from both sides, Blount included, met at midfield for a pregame handshake, the result of a sportsmanship initiative developed for this weekend's games by the American Football Coaches Association and the NCAA. Grant Teaff, the AFCA's executive director, said Friday the incident would not dampen the weekend.

"This case points out that we still need to have a commitment to sportsmanship and respect," Teaff told ESPN's Joe Schad. "It was sad as I watched [the events in Boise], but the good news is nobody joined in. That would have been a brawl back in the day. This was one player who was frustrated and infuriated and lost control."

The Boise player did touch blount first.
Only from what the camera caught. Nobody knows what led up to it, if anything. But pushing a helmeted opponent in the shoulder is a pretty far cry from punching someone in the face who isn't even looking in your direction. JMO. Of course the easiest way to not get taunted is to not suck.:no1:

The punch was definitely not called for. Blount is a thug and he's getting what he deserves.

An ESPN Analyst speculated that he was a 2nd or 3rd Draft Prospect. They also said this would definitely hurt his draft chances, but that someone would take a chance with him. Their probably right. Look at all the bad guys playing there now.

Sounds like the Boise State Player is going to get real intimate with the steps at their stadium! I'd say it's going to be a long week for him. It was my experience that one never really wanted to catch the notice of the head coach in any kind of bad light.
