Hello, everyone! I just found this forum today, while searching for information on obtaining a carry permit. I thought I'd go ahead and join and introduce myself. I live and work in Knoxville and I'm taking the carry permit class (part I) tomorrow night. My father is retired FBI and he's been pushing me to do this for quite some time... I'm no Rambo-type but I have grown up around guns, target shooting, and hunting all of my life. I only own 1 pistol (a Sig P239 9mm) but that is likely to change, now that I've seen the Beretta PX4 .40 subcompact, when I enrolled in my carry class. Not sure my wife is going to understand... Anyway, looking forward to reading the posts and learning from all you experts out there!

Welcome from Oak Ridge. Congrats on making the decision to take your protection into your own hands. Where are you taking your class?

At Coal Creek Armory: they are close to where I work and offer a Tue/Thu class at 5pm, so very convenient for me. I wanted to take Mike Lett's course at the Sheriff's range but I don't want to give up a whole Saturday...
