Well it seems my budget may have decided for me. My truck needs a new carb. so i may end up with the cheaper option of the cz82

I think you will like it. The only negative thing I can say about this gun is that its over-engineered, too many parts. It doesnt even justify the usual backhanded insult of "its great for the money". Its better than a lot of $500 guns. And, again, its hard to beat $8 a box ammo for anything but a .22 these days.

The problem will be finding one (cz-82). Because i am still 20 until may. I have read where i can legally own the pistol, but have to buy it FTF. So i have to get lucky for one to pop up used.

Cause im pretty sure having my wife buy it from a dealer for me is illegal.

Yes but your wife can buy it period. Just dont go in saying "my wife is gonna buy this becaus I legally can't." no one is legally linked to the gun as 'owner'. If your married it would be yours collectively

I really recommend that you try shooting all of them at some point before you buy. I wager that some friendly TGOers out there will let you meet them and shoot theirs, as long as you bring the ammo! If I was out that way, I'd meet up and let you fire some of mine.

If the weapon you really want is only another couple hundred bucks, save up and buy it. It's worth your wait. Don't settle for a weapon less expensive just to "have" something. I skimped on my first handgun purchase, only to trade the thing in a few months later, take a bath on the trade, and buy what I really wanted (a Glock). I have been very pleased since and learned a valuable lesson: pay a little more and buy once, rather than pay a little less today and shell out more later.
